The Laroussse dictionary defines it as "image faisant partie d'un reve..." In essence "fantasies" (also spelled phantasmes)

Hi,

"Fantasmes" should be understood as secrets desires, un-acomplished wants; I mean when a "fantasme" is done, it's no more a "fantasme" .

Commonly associated with sexual desires, i could be extrapolated to others secrets desires .

The root is surely the latin basis, so the confusion with italian word fantasmi (in spanish is it fantasmas ? in romanian ?)

Every people would like their "fantasmes" become reality .... (so a french idiot proverb "Ne prends pas tes fastasmes pour des realit?s" .....)
