I might be able to explain why some models charge more if their work is never going to be published.

Some younger models may see what they do in this area as a career and factor that into the equation too. I admit I'm guessing but it must be one thing to spend all day in Joe Schmoe's dingy back bedroom and entirely another to work with someone like Tanya Hyde/Trevor Watson.

In other words, a kind of descrimination.

Just to add to JoJo...UKAP rates were agreed through conversation should be a standard for girls to use as reference but doesnt necessarily apply to the whole industry..Just to those in video production.

So many girls were asking and we are here to inform. Even non members pay the standard or some companies pay considerably more and then others pay less but thats between the model and that producer.

Just to put in my two penneth worth (which due to recession is now worth about 0.3p), I agree with some of the posts above about relevance or lack of it with reference to current levels. UK mag levels have changed a lot over the past few years and so has the content that they buy.

A lot of emphasis has been placed here as to what a model should be paid for certain levels etc but in my opinion a shoot is made up of at least 5 equal parts. A model is one part and so is styling/make-up, location, lighting and set content. I see a lot of images from togs on here that have paid out for a great model, paid the agreed rate for it but then have paid little or no attention to styling, lighting, the content of the set and most importantly the location.
Now paying a model the rate that she wants is all well and good but spend to get the right location to make the set actually interesting. Also models (although some think so) are not always the best person to do their own make-up. There is a model that has recently had a fair few pics of her posted on here that has been made to look average. I have other pics of her that make her look stunning, so much so that a prestigious US magazine are now interested in commissioning me for a set of her. The extra for a professional stylist/make-up artist makes a huge difference.

Also when I refer to set content, there are a lot of togs who only shoot a set of about 100 images (or less) and three quarters of the set have the girl in the same bloody position but her leg might have moved a couple of inches, it's boring and a waste of time (and money). Great sets have a beginning, middle and end just like a story.

Plus the lighting is also so important, you've got a great model, nice location, the model is performing amazingly but no attention paid to lighting, so no matter how great you are with lightroom or photoshop, there's bugger all you can do with it.

I find that you get much more from a model when she feels more attention has been made just for her. If you've spent that little bit more to get a better location, clothing, make-up, most will appreciate it and feel that little bit more special for it.

Go into a sex shop and spend ?50 and buy loads of different magazines from different countries and see what is being published.

I refered earlier to levels being somewhat irrelevant. UK mags can only show a certain level but they will buy a lot harder content as they need to put that on their website. Apart from Playboy, US mags need stronger and stronger stuff. So instead of taking a set of 100 images, take 300 - 400 and cover all the bases, shoot enough content for the UK to get a soft edit and harder for everything else. This means one set can be sold in many different ways. I always think the most important thing is the preparation. I would rather a tog shoot one set instead of two for the same money but make that one set count. This is pointless if you are only in it to see girls take their clothes off for you but if you're taking it seriously as a business, shoot less but shoot better.

I appreciate that this is not relevant to all or anyone in particular and also applies to video shoots as well as stills. Just my opinion that's all.

I think that would be about the standard rate for modelling with "toys" both stills and video.
Although i don't do video myself, i understand that an extra ?10 is added on to the stills rate for video.

Be-Seen-Here why do you appear to be anti amateur photographers who want to book a model but do not want publish or sell the photographs / video ?
Of course if the photographer subsequently publishes or passes on the photographs / video without the models agreement, regardless of if the photographer asks for a fee or not, that is wrong.

Do you only want professional photographers to use your model directory website?

Why do you imply that a model taking a booking from an amateur photographer is being used as an escort when there is no interaction between the model and the photographer?
Surely it is the choice of the model who they will work with at various levels?
It has been discussed on BGAFD many times but if a model works g/g or b/g professionally I would not expect them to interact with an amateur photographer on or off camera.

Will someone who advertises as an escort rather than a model and accepts a booking
' ... to stick a rabbit up my fanny and/or arse and be filmed/photographed '
be confident and perform well in front of the camera like a model would be expected to do? On average I doubt it.

Also surely it is for each model to decide if they charge a different rate for work that will not be published, not producers and website businesses to influence them.
