British Video Review Sites?

Would it be possible to add the approximate date/year of release to new films indexed on this site from now on? Probably not realistic to go back over films alraedy here. I for one would find it very useful to be able to put films in some sort of date context.

Sometime later in the year I\'m hoping to be able to add a facility whereby you will be able to submit your own reviews/ratings/opinions directly against films (though it will have to be moderated of course). In the meantime I\'ll take on board the comments by Funky Spingers and start to include a list of new reviews (or major overhauls to reviews) in the history summary from the next update.

Thanks for replies&input alec and everyone else. I am not criticizing this site and merely used the CAVR example as it popped into my mind first. There are other sites such as iafd and rame that have viewer-written reviews, with varying degrees of details and subjective commentary. The excruciating detail of the CAVR format can be overly technical and clinical to some, I admit. The point is that the review-oriented sites are "driven" by new releases and individual favorites, which usually results in the duds getting bashed in short order and the gems getting praised and re-praised. My post wasn't a "plant" to initiate changes in BGAFD, I was just hoping to be directed to that elusive "perfect URL that has exactly what I seek". The review-style notes (when they appear) that accompany some of the BGAFD film listings are nicely done, informative and useful.

Thanks for the compliments and thanks for starting an interesting discussion.
As to getting reviews up quickly - the slow speed is partly down to the time it takes to update, which we are working on, but often down to the fact that stuff seems to get released more slowly in UK than in the States. Rebekah, in another thread, mentioned one of her early films that was made nearly two years ago that still hasn't been edited. If the video is being released legitimately as an R18 in UK it them has to be submitted to the bbfc and classified. Then it has to get to the shops - which are rare outside London. If it is being released 'underground', it may take even longer for it to appear on someone's mail-order catalogue, if it ever does, and come to our attention. If it is an American release, the PAL version may never appear and if it does it seems to be several months behind - in a series perhaps several numbers behind the latest one shown on a site like jadedvideo. In contrast, a couple of videos Rebekah made in LA in Jan/Feb have already been released in the States- Blowjob Adventures of Dr Fellatio 34, Elegant-Angel, April 2001, and Naughty Little Nymphos 6, Notorious, February 2001.
Unfortunately we still live in a very repressed society over here where it is not only difficult to get the films, but also difficult to find out about them, which is part of the reason for this site.
