Someone will know that they're going to drop in a month or two and come over here for the birth. They might stay with relatives during the final period prior to the baby arriving, and then have it in a British hospital - on the NHS. The people here I'm talking about are the average citizens from that place.
Regarding government wives from Nigeria, they will not be short of money and could chose to either have the birth there, in a expensive hospital which only a tiny number of Nigerians would be able to afford to go to - or, if they wanted to, come to the UK to have it. Those people would probably go private in Britain, there is a large hospital next to Lords Cricket Ground in north London, called The Wellington, which loads of rich foreigners use. They all pay with their own money, so that is good.
The Nigerian government minister's wife would either go there or to Harley Street - and during the days prior to the birth her husband will have time to pop over to Switzerland to meet one of his bank managers.

Interesting Max. So you believe the "average" Nigerian citizen would be able to purchase a return air ticket from Nigeria to the UK and support themselves for several weeks on UK costs if they had no relatives here?
"They might stay with relatives"
True, but you have no idea do you?

Yes, that is why I linked it to his post and included the specific phrase Lagos shuttle"

Max. Don't waste your time arguing with DJ. If he thinks tomorrow is Sunday he is right and the other 7 billion of the human race are not only wrong but stupid.

Max/Argie
The gross national income per Nigerian is about ?1000/yr. so only a very, very small proportion of the population could afford to come to the UK, not the "average" that you refer to Max.
Argie, I don't know why you whine about me thinking I am always right and therefore no point in having a discussion. You have never in all the years I have been posting on here had a debate with anybody who disagrees with you.
The standard Argie approach is:
1. Post something derogatory about foreign aid, immigrants, blacks, Jews, Muslims, Liverpool supporters, Lib Dems, Labour, Man Utd, charities, Scottish Nationalists, the EU etc.
2. Head for the hills if anybody can be bothered to disagree with you.

A typical example Argie
For example, you start a thread about gays called 49,000 pardons. OEJ posts a differing view.
You don't bother to respond to him but leave Max to do that even though you started the thread. This is your typical approach. Presumably anybody who disagrees with you must be not worthy of an Argie reply because they are too pig headed to agree with you.

Peter/Max/Argie - I wuz wrong
Off the back of Peter's post I have done a bit more reading.
You are right. I was wrong. It is a very expensive problem caused by Nigerian women forging documents to get on planes from Nigeria at the last minute.

You also asked me to expand on the Nigerian mother giving birth in the UK issue, in your post above. It's addressed to me. Lol. (below)

Your reply to my post has nothing to do with that post.
I repeat - where is the logic in a Nigerian woman coming over here on the "Lagos shuttle" to have a baby.
