"Makes a change."
Of late, yes. But if you had used this forum for a few years you would have known that we have agreed on far, far more than we have disagreed.
"Was the leading story on most of the terrestrial news channels or one of them on that day."
I know. However most of them did not tell the full story in that NICE and various surgeons working in that area do not foresee anywhere near the numbers of people having gastric band treatment as quoted, for reasons I have explained elsewhere.
"Correct but it's best to avoid obesity/diabetes in the first place."
Of course and this is true of all illnesses which are directly affected by lifestyle issues.

"Denying the obese healthcare could be seen as punishing the poorest in our society too. That's not right. It's about education and introducing healthy habits in families........Gove or no Gove."
I did say elsewhere people with diabetes/obese should be treated the first time.

"It has been mentioned on this thread already but it seems to me that one easy way of stopping a lot of this is to just stop throwing in all this added extra sugar and other unnecessary ingredients."
Unfortunately the 'added extra sugar and other unnecessary ingredients' make the product taste very nice and sugar can be addictive. Thereby increasing the manufacturers 'healthy profits'. The food and drink manufacturers have a huge responsibility in all this but like the cigarette and alcohol manufacturers they don't take their responsibilities very seriously.

Re: Diabetes Crises
hmm yep I think your right.
So with this in mind unless there is a law change to stop companies doing it then its got to be a case of put up and shut up and people will stay over weight and thus put a large strain on the NHS.
A big merry go round of a cluster fuck of a problem lol
