Happy New Year All,
Can anyone help. About an hour ago I pressed paused on my Sky+ HD remote and the programme started to rewind at +2. I pressed Stop but nothing happened, I checked to see if the button was stuck, it wasn't. I put fresh batteries in handset still nothing The only way I could stop it was by turning it off at the wall. So now I can't watch Sky only Freesat as there seems to be no power going from the handset to the box. THe controller seems dead as there's no red light flashing when I press any of the buttons. Has anyone got any ideas or will I have to oder and new handset from Amazon? Does anyone know what the life span of a remote is as I've only had this one since July 2010. Many thanks in advance.

Presume you've tried resetting the Sky+ box.
Bad time of year, but best contact Sky.
Surely no need to purchase a new handset, it must be part of their guarantee

Callout will be ?60 so cheaper to buy a new one. Cant you borrow another remote and see if that works?

The Sky box has probably frozen, they do this all the time. Unplug the box from the mains and plug it in again after a minute and let it reset, it takes about 2 minutes, it might then work. Worth a try anyway.

Looks like I was misguided by stating the word "guarantee", my misses pays for the Sky, so have no experience with them, and she nearly pissed herself when I said that... oops!
Like myself and Jim said, a reset is the first and most likely answer.
