If somebody is sentenced to a life term then it is something of an escape for him if that person is allowed to take their own life. It is the duty of the prison service to keep alive those in its charge, so that those inmates can reflect on their crime for the rest of their life.
Aside from the unquestionable evil of his crime, I cant help reflect that had he got himself very drunk, recklessly got in a vehical and driven with casual, murdurous indifference along Sohan High Street, killing pedestrians such as the two children, he would not have been demonised quite so much, and would in all probability be coming up for parole about now. For some reason society doesnt seem to consider killing by car even when drunk, to be all that serious, yet it involves the culprit in taking life and death decisions with other peoples lives. Perhaps there's a little bit of 'there but for the grace of god, go I' about it.

One would hope that if the circumstances you described happened, the driver would be charged with manslaughter and receive the maximum sentence for that offence which is life.

Were the drunken Huntley scenario you describe be true, we would at least know more about why it happened, which is not the case at present.

I'm with the psychaitrists on this one. Something very, very wrong happened on that fateful day, and only with Huntley's co-operation can the authorities find out what made him do it.

A greater understanding of why these vile crimes happen could only benefit society. And while another corpse on the floor might please some, it also might blind us from what we really need to know.

I've just been reading about the murders on Wiki. Terrible stuff, but we have to remember not to tar all victims of bullying with the same brush as the media tend to enjoy doing. Huntley's a 101% cunt, but most victims of bullying can remain victims all their lives without turning into a bunch of Huntley type murderers.

all that "if you get bullied/abused as a child you'll grow up to be etc....." is just a cop out.

im sure theres hardly anybody on this forum who was subjected to some sort of bullying as a child, i know i was. Yet with normal people you get thru it and it makes you a stronger person at the end of it.

I certainly dont feel the urge to go out and beat the crap out of random Joe Bloggs because of it, i just laugh at the the bullies cos most of them now will be living off the state in a run down council house with 5 kiddies running them into the ground, where as i gotta nice house, a decent job and a gorgeous girlfriend.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but i wanted to get that off my chest!!

As for Cuntley, i'd like to put him in a room, chained up to a wall with nothing but a big clock facing him.

On the stroke of 1 o'clock, i'd go in and cut him once.

On the stroke of 2 i'd do it twice.

And so on...

The fear and apprehension would be sooooooo much worse than just giving him a kicking/stabbing.

If that makes me sick... i guess I'm sick!

cheers

But then again, a victim of bullying can end up in one of those run down council houses (or worse!) with not a friend in the world because their self esteem has been run into the ground. I do know what you mean though.

Personally where there is no doubt as in this case that he was guilty of this terrible crime then he should be given any means available to top himself, why should the taxpayer have to pay to keep scum like him alive. if they had the death penalty for child killers it would probably be by lethal injection so give him the means and let him get on with it.
