Deuce I did answer that point further down. I'm against all segregation, particularly segregated schooling. Theres absolutely no need for muslim schools or christian schools. Children should be educated together and from the same book, as they are the next generation and dividing them and yes 'segregating them' because split hairs all you like that's exactly what it is, is going to create even more division in society which I fail to see can be a good thing in any way shape or form. Why do muslim children need to be educated seperately? Unless they find mainstream schooling unnaceptable..which means they basically find Britian and it's culture unnaceptable. In which case how on Earth can we co exist 'peacefully'?
The fact that I have asain freinds, in fact more than I have whites, does not prove multi culturalism works. It just proves that people on individual level mostly get on, after all at a basic level we are all much the same. But that said they still feel they belong to a community I'm not a part of, they feel different to me. Thats not unity. We both feel part of communities that are discriminated against and treated unfairly. White people and asain both feel discriminated against in 21st century. Just ask a few of them. You can't write that off...that's exactly why extremism is flourishingly, everyones disatisifed all round..and that aint healthy and it aint good, and the more we are all ordered to keep silent about it the worse it gets, because putting a lid on a kettle just brings it faster to the boil.

Re: The reality of racism
We all discriminate in one way or another
That discrimination doesn't rely on race or religion to exist
Someone always thinks their being discriminated against because they think the grasser is greener on the otherside
Perception and Reality are very rarely the same
cheers

Re: The reality of racism
I'll agree those that come here and spread by preaching messages of hate
should feel the full force of the law
To denounce a whole religion is utterly stupid &
saying that Nationalism should over ride ones personal beliefs equally so
I'd bet that if the Germans were to have a third go at taking Britain
British Muslims would defend it just as well as any others
cheers

Re: The reality of racism
Well most complaints I've heard are usually backed up by facts I must say. Most complaints of discrimination tend to be true, whether it's towards the white majority, or the ethnic minorities. But perhaps your right in as much as both sides fail to see this. I must admit I've found it ironic people complaining to me about 'racism', bothblack, white and asain, who are push come to shove some of the most racist hate filled individuals I've ever met.

"March 20, 2005
ANKARA, Turkey -- ''Mein Kampf," Adolf Hitler's notorious work outlining his anti-Semitic worldview, has become a bestseller in this officially secular but mainly Muslim nation. Its sudden rebirth has alarmed the country's small Jewish community and raised concerns among officials in the European Union, which Turkey aspires to join.
Remzi and D & R, Turkey's two largest bookstore chains, rank the work among the top 10 on their bestseller lists this month, as they did in February. At the Ada bookshop in a popular Ankara shopping strip, ''Mein Kampf," or ''Kavgam," as it is called in Turkish, has sold out.
''It's our fifth-highest-selling book," said Serkan Oznur, the store manager."
Lets hope your right and British muslims are nothing like Turkish muslims then!

Purely Human Curiosity IMHO
Theres nothing wrong with reading about the reasoning behind one of the most Evil Figures that ever lived?
Now if the book was about "Christians to be trampled underfoot" it would be different.A radical Fundamentalist Cleric in Australia is in deep shit over this publication
Can't see Turkish Muslims calling for a Fascist State and burning all other Books, after reading it and lets be honest its far better to be informed by reading Hitlers Manifesto than remaining ignorant of his motives.
cheers

Re: The reality of racism
Human curiosity? So why isn't it a best seller in Germany? Japan? South Korea? Italy? Guam? England? Why Turkey and why now.
In fact it's not just Turkey Mein Kampf was translated into Arabic (and many other languages) in the 1960s and has been popular for decades in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, the Palestinian terrorities - even in Indonesia and the Muslim far east. Historically, it is the sixth best-selling book of all time among Palestinians. In the Muslim world, it's common knowledge two nations are despised above all others - the United States, largely a Christian nation, as well as a longtime supporter and ally of Israel, and the Jewish nation of Israel itself. Mein Kampf is written by the guy who wanted to exterminate world jewry. The guy the Bosnian Muslims allied themselves with specifically on the terms the victorious Germnas would 'cleanse' Palestine of all Jews.
If you seriously doubt that the popularity of Mein Kampf throughot the Muslim worls is any more than a coincidence, rather than deliberate source of inspiration this quote kinda throws doubt on that...
From the 1995 introduction to Arabic version of Mein Kampf by Luis Al-Haj:
Adolf Hitler does not belong to the German people alone, he is one of the few great men who almost stopped the motion of history, altered its course, and changed the face of the world ... Hitler was a man of ideology who bequeathed an ideological heritage whose decay is inconceivable.
We made a point to deliver Hitler's opinions and theories on nationalism, regimes, and ethnicity without any changes because they are not yet outmoded and because we, in the Arab world, still proceed haphazardly in all three fields.

Re: The reality of racism
i'm not sure peoples perception of 'faith schools' are all they're made out to be. I went to a Catholic school which had C/E and Muslims in it (not a lot though) and the only difference I could see in the Catholic school as opposed to my mates in other schools is that we mumbled a prayer in the morning, went to the odd mass and did GCSE RE. Hardly a hotbed of religious nuts. When I left and went to live in Brum I wasn't of such a closed mind to stop me living and being friends with all faiths and nationalities at uni, that's more about good parenting than school methinks.
Interesting idea about mixed schools, but the reality is it wouldn't be achievable. Go to Harrogate for example, ethnic population of bugger all, how are they supposed to have anything other than mainly all white schools? you don't need to be brought up with other cultures to have respect for then and that's whats important IMO

we are Leeds.... , and we can still beat the mighty Chester
Re: The reality of racism
I'm not saying all schools should be forcibly mixed! I'm just saying nobody should be allowed to set up a school that are exclusive , be it race exclusive, ie all 'white' or religion or culture exclusive 'all muslim'. Thats segregatuonist and divsionist and is going to massively increase race tensions in the future.
To be fair these new 'muslim schools' are like the catholic schools open to anyone who wishes to go, but the people setting these up no full well nobody in their right mind who isn't a muslim is going to send there children in a chirsitan country, to a muslim school were they will be a 'freak' and an 'infidel', and be subject to indocrination into a religion that's alien to the rest of the country. To be fair I don't think muslim, hindus sikh kids should be forced to sing christian songs in schools either, even if this is a christian country, I agree with a previous poster, and god forbid the French on this matter, religion and education should be seperate. Religious studies classes were pupils are all taught about religions fine..but 'muslim' schools and 'catholic' schools. No, these are little more than an attempt to seperate one part of the community from the rest.

Re: Not necessarily.
"And when it came to trial, there was no racial angle mentioned at all. Not until AFTER the verdicts were returned, when the judge told the three men convicted that they had, without doubt, gone out on a hunting trip to find any white victim they could. The case wasn't prosecuted as a racial murder in case the jury was influenced NOT to convict. This despite the killers being taped talking in detail about what they did that night....yet there was no national news coverage for days on end to highlight the crime, Doreen Lawrence didn't turn up on our doorstep to voice her concerns about the racist killing and basically nobody wanted to know. "
Which is the point I was making above. The BBC (and news media in general) are staffed by seriously poncy middleclass fuckers and I'm afraid the story you have just related does not fit in with their poncy, Guardian reading, middleclass agenda - so they sidelined it or buried it. They are supposed to be impartial, evenhanded and rational. But that is so spectacularly not the case. The poncy twats are so convinced of the righteousness of their philosophy, and political correctness is so ingrained, that they automatically view their way of looking at things as the right-thinking persons way - everyone on else is 'damaged' 'disadvantaged', 'racist', 'sexist', 'homophobic,' etc, etc.
Tell yer what. I've had a great idea for a wizard wheeze - write to Fiona Bruce at the BBC (apparently she's very PC) and say, "Now then yer silly cow. How about doing a documentary on those lairy slappers who go out on a Thursday night, get obnoxiously paralytic, then get the nearest 'Darren' to take them round the back and shag them. Then, realizing that their husbands, boyfriends and families might find out, cry 'Rape!' in a seriously stupid attempt to try and absolve themselves of any responsibility and blame. Meanwhile, causing immense agro and heartache to the friends and families of all concerned, not to mention the huge cost in Police, and CPS time.
Yeah, that'll get 'em in a tizzy ('cause in nonce land, men are always to blame) It's a real issue, but those fuckers won't want to touch it with a barge.
