I said I would post the tuning details for Radio Caroline in Sky Digital so here they are.

"Tuning Instructions for Sky Digiboxes*
There is a procedure to go through, but this only requires to be done once.
First make sure that your TV is tuned to Sky. Press Services on the remote control and then select System Set Up and Add Channels.
The screen will then give you tuning options. Use the keypad and the cursor ( triangular ) buttons to make the screen show:
Frequency - 11.390
Polarity - V
Symbol Rate - 27.5
FEC - 2/3
Now go to Find Channels and press Select. The screen will shortly show you the channel it has found. Use the yellow button to Store Channels, this puts a small tick against your choice, then press Select.
When you want to listen to Caroline, just press Services and Other Channels. The Caroline option will appear and you just press Select".

Radio Caroline is also available via the Worldspace satellite, info below.

"WorldSpace Corporation has launched its first multinational satellite radio subscription plan, marketed as Home Team Radio/Brits Abroad. The initial target market for phase one of the global subscription roll out will be American and British expatriates living and working abroad, including members of the military.
The services on offer includes Fox News, National Public Radio and Bloomberg from the US, while UK offerings includes Radio Caroline, TalkSport, BBC, and Virgin Radio UK. WorldSpace also offers "world class original content programming including music, motivational spoken word and dozens of international channels." Subscriptions cost US$9.99 per month, with special additional receiver subscription and multi year incentives.
Subscription and receiver sales are available beginning online and via phone through WorldSpace Global Customer Service. A complete list of the WorldSpace Satellite Radio subscription offering, retailers and dealers is available online at ".

Plus of course via the Internet at

True, the likes of Desmond C and the faux-yank, eighties-timewarp Steve Wright do sound horribly out of place now, but at least it shows Radio 2's on-going carving of its new identity is forward thinking, and the balance will take a while. I know it plays up to the middle-class, twenty/thirtysomething middleground a little too eagerly - Ken Bruce playing Athlete, Mellua etc, but they're still listening and taking note of where exactly its target audience is at. The only problem is the station's approach to new music. Will it dare step out of the comfortable criteria set so firmly in the past?

A long way to go then, but still far better than what it once was, i.e. Ken Bruce and couple of old Carpenters records, perhaps with Nillson's 'Without You' thrown in to add variety. Ghastly stuff.
