Its hardly surprising when you consider normal court cases

Murder cases where prime witnesess aren't interviewed because their evidence will lead to an undesirable outcome

Corruption and deal making are at its heart IMHO
Then you throw in a good dose of real incompetency
and its nop wonder the public is cynical

An excellent example of this is our coroner of the past 30 years was recently found

NOT TO BE QUALIFIED-believe it or not

This guys as an expert determined court cases

cheers

I think at least two people will be looking for gainful employment when the report is published---and the "let's fuck Gilligan" memo has made Campbell's decision to stand down more understandable.

Out:

Gilligan (the Beeb will sack him asap)
Hoon (nominated scapegoat for Tone)

In trouble:

Tom Kelly
Jonathan Powell (and if he has the finger pointed at him, TB is on a very slippery slope).

It's proof yet again of the incompetence of those in power. A few careful porkies and no one would have been the wiser. Instead, because the journalistically reliable Mr Gilligan decides to embellish his mundane reporting, No 10 goes apeshit and looks for someone to throw to the wolves. Dr Kelly only lost his life; some of these people stand to lose their careers or reputations.

Is it any wonder politicians are held in such high regard?

Who knows what will happen, maybe a cabinet reshuffle or new members to government but i do feel TB is out when enough mud is thrown it will stick and they do seem to drop themselves in enough shit lately.
Oh only time will tell now what will happens when that report is written.

It was shaping up for Scarlett and Hoon to be the fall-guys until the latter reversed his piss-poor initial showing.
A dead cat bounce, or has he saved his neck?

I did watch a bit of the program called The Deal on last night and it seems TB became the prime minster by treading on a fellow persons toes of his own party.

Isn't that how all politicians climb the greasy pole?

Both TB and GB stood aside when Kinnock resigned, allowing John Smith a fairly free run at the leadership. In the wake of the latter's death, they apparently made a deal that Tone would stand as leader on the understanding that Gordy would follow. Imagine, son of the kirk or not, a politician as shrewd as Brown believing a fellow politician would keep his word.
