Will any on certain medication for it realise they won't get certs from a hospital for couple of weeks after due to giving a wrong reading....thank god for private clinics as you'll always get a cert no matter what.

I have to agree with you there Kim.

If everybody really wanted it in place it just would have happened already at the beginning of this year.

The sorry truth is something will replace our present system when everyone is panicking like they did years ago when someone actually does catch HIV.

I'm told it took that for the US to bring in PCR/DNA testing.

Oh and Im also told by a reliable source (ex pat brit performer in LA) that there are other HIV cases that you dont hear about. The ones where they get the result and just silently drift off into obscurity for fear of persecution and media hounding

Scary dont you think?

Just takes one to not even know they have it to bring it back and give it to one person and infect a lot more others.

So how would we know who to quarantine? This industry will be on indefinite lockdown but the two times we did have lockdowns a lot of the business carried on working anyway.

Whats even more sick (and I hope this is a bad joke) that Ive heard of "gifting" parties where people actually introduce a non infected person to get infected by HIV. Thats in the real world mind.

A lot of big amateur stars only work in their own circuit because of fear from HIV & HEP C infections, people not using condoms are on a high risk list & quite a few won't work with them because of this. We work with either am or pro but check out where they have worked in recent months & only if will use condoms on our shoots. If someone as worked abroad we would stay clear of them for at least 3-4 months as they could have worked with people who in turn have worked with people from e.g. Brazil & former Russian states where HIV is rife.
A data base with condoms used as standard would at least stop peoples doubts but as certs are easy to forge & a lot of the pro studs would find it hard to work with condoms big companies / productions wouldn't dare do this.
We will carry on as we have always done with our condoms & certs (infection free for 12yrs) being cautious & skimming the edge of the pro industry dipping our toes in now again waiting for them to get themselves together but it won't be until a big outbreak hits us that people will unite & then it will be only because of money.

In an ideal world that might work but not everybody wants to play ball so to speak. Also this may be down to the fact that most producers have different business models ie those shooting mainly solo girls or me shooting couples or another producer who is always rubbered up on escorts. The mainstrea end of the business has diversified to a point that not every producer fits in the same category anymore.

This is ultimately a performers issue therefore performers should orchestrate support for it.

Oh well, back to square one it is then.

Our policy is simple. If any of the models we are using are involved in scenes that 'exchange bodily fluids' (from blowjobs upwards) WE organise and pay for them to be tested at a private Medi-centre in London.

We will NOT use anybody that does not have a clear bill of health.

As producers of porn WE are responsible for the people we employ (the models).

We have had a couple of models not turn up to their appointment at the clinic. Needless to say we did not use them.

I think the naming and shaming idea is basically a good idea, however, misinformation can be a backwards step. There are people in this argument that I respect in the industry, and if they were to name and shame I would believe them. However, until every producer is willing to pay for their models' certs there will always be a risk involved.

We happily use models that provide their own certs for anything up to handjobs (but we will check the models' hands for cuts - as well as explain that they have to be accountable for their own safety). Anything that goes further (oral, sex, anal, pissing) can only be performed after we receive the results that we paid for!

This is not an indictment of any other producer/production company that does not pay for certs (as it can eat up the budget). But simple H&S practice can save the industry!
