From recents chats with those over the pond and a few people here... Brit porn is seen my quite a few people as being too "VANILLA," though there are one or two producers here in the UK who are heading towards the US style harder shoot, ********** is an example.

US porn has become rougher due to demand. It seems that the consumers are getting bored with the usual straight b/g and g/g genre.s They now need more to turn them on. This type of site is now taking off as well:

The point of debate is not to arrive at definitive 'answers' but to speculate. Even the participants can only give an answer that applies to them at that point in time, nonetheless it's interesting to speculate and to share different views.

'It seems consumers are getting bored with the usual genres' ... well, rather than offering them something more subtle and erotic which might require them to use their imaginations they go in a different direction and offer them something that combines sex with violence ! The problem is one of desensitisation .. they're tired of more conventional porn and need a new sensation but where do you draw the line? What's the logical conclusion here .. snuff movies?

I've heard this argument before ie the "consumers" (when are they ever asked??!!) are getting bored. So if they are bored of normal porn, must they, by definition, require girls to be abused and generally humliated? Surely "They" will get bored of this, and then what, presumably rape and murder?

Personally I don't think it's anything to do with the consumers, it's to do with the women- hating producers, who prefer to see a woman in discomfort. I built the whole jimslip ethic as a reaction to this trend, to prove that not all porn consumers are potential serial killers and rapists and indeed they are not, as jimslip.com is successful. So far I havent had any requests to slap or beat up any of the girls, so i presume my members are quite happy!

I should add that if I did get any requests like this, and it became the trend, I'd pack up and clean toilets. In other words just because you may think the market demands something that is morally wrong, it doesn't mean you should fulfill it.

But of course the Yanks are morally bankrupt.

Both Jonone and Jimslip make some very interesting points that reinforce a few theories I've held for som time now...

I believe Jimslip is right in saying that those US producers who put out the aggressive type of material, are in fact, women-haters - there does appear to be an awful lot of warped sexual fantasies manifesting themselves in the overall depiction of sex from our American cousins.

One thing you've got to remember is that the girls who say they 'like' rough sex (something we often hear them say in the 'interview' section of US scenes) are in fact getting PAID to indulge (most likely) in Anal, DP's, DAP's Gangbangs, etc. so saying that they're into a more 'rough' variety of sex, is no great stretch for them really.

Basically, whilst I'm sure a small percentage of female performers might indeed like the aggressive treatment, I'm also sure the majority are just saying it because they're happy just to do the job, say what they're asked to say, and take the money and run.

Jonone is correct in saying that in any debate that there are no definitive answers, all we can indeed do, is to speculate...

One of my speculations about US porn producers is that they're reflecting a darker aspect of their own (barely) repressed mysoginistic rage against the women in their lives - be it mothers or lovers.

Sorry to get all Freudian there folks, but methinks it's certainly food for thought...

I did see a preview clip for a vid a while back, where the guy seems to be getting off on verbally abusing the woman, she looked really pissed at him, then he blew his load direct in her face when she said "Only on my tits", she then proceeded to beat the shit out of him, i thought that was fucking hilarious.
