Brit vs. US porn - why are they nastier?

Wondered what people thought of this aspect of US porn...

American porn appears to have a growing pre-occupation with 'roughing up' the girls - it's seems to have become VERY prevalent in MAINSTREAM US porn in the last few years...

I mean I've seen TONS of American porn and a fair bit of Brit stuff too and the main difference is that in mainstream Brit porn, I've never seen the girls being treated roughly, degraded/humiliated.

On the other hand, it's something that US mainstream porn has seems to be leaning more and more towards.

Brit porn, for me, seems very fun-orientated and no where nearly as misogynistic as our US counterparts, and that is the joy of Brit productions - everybody seems to be having FUN.

Whilst I have some misgivings about Brit porn (poor production values, sometimes dodgy-looking talent etc.) the American stuff has developed this nasty streak of treating the girls badly on-screen: rough power-fucking, skull-fucking, spitting - the list goes on.

Yeah, I know it's all agreed upon in advance, but thats not my point - it's why are the Americans so keen to see the girls knocked about so much? - you rarely see anything remotely fun in their stuff, just a lot of aggression.

I hope this form of nastiness doesn't become a trend in our home-grown porn.

I think brit porn is at a higher level but maybe its just that we have come to know and love the babes in this country and what gets them going.

As regard the agression thing i think your taking it a bit too seriously but i see what your saying.

Well, maybe I am taking it a bit too seriously and maybe i'm not - have you seen any of Max Hardcore's movies? - It's pretty distasteful stuff my friend!

One of his films was enough for me - and apparently the one I was watched wasn't as bad of his other stuff.

My real point though is the huge cultural difference between Brit and US porn as far as the 'aggressive angle' is concerned.

The aggression/ humiliation stuff is for people that don't like and are frightened of women. If you analysed this market segment you'd probably find that its people who don't like themselves very much either. If they don't like women by implication do they like? Is this genre of porn about sublimation and displacement ? Is that the root of the aggression, misogyny and self hatred ?

This is the movie that has broke the camel's back, so to speak, in the US at the minute, although if girls are dumb enough to sign up for a movie that involves them getting punched in the back of the head, then more fool them for doing so....

Some of the girls may say they like rough sex. Some of them may have self esteem issues. On the one hand women don't like to be put on a pedestal and seen as virginal princesses, and they may enjoy undermining that and playing with the madonna/whore duality. Each to their own, but I can't help feeling that if you enjoy being humiliated where's your self respect? If you want to be treated like sh*t is it reasonable to assume that that's how you see yourself ?

As for the women enjoying 'dishing it out' .. does it make them men haters? Well, there is no female equivalent of misogyny to my knowledge... if they enjoy that they're probably misanthropic I would think. I would think the majority of them just turn up, do the gig and take the money. It's a job.
