Sorry but there is no way the punters should pay for the testing, it has to come from those in the business.
Dvd's are produced for under a quid and some of the shops in Soho charge ?40+. Someone in that ridiculous mark up is profiting heavily from the customers, it would be taking the p!ss to ask them to fund this idea.
When customers buy a DVD or a months internet subscription should they add cash to the extra condoms fund? Extra cash for plasters for the rug burns? Extra cash as her lingerie got ripped in the making of?
The money to make the business safe has to come from the business itself - it's not a charity.

Hmm, maybe not the best way to back my argument then. Shows I don't smoke. I still say the viewers will decide what we see when it comes to condoms.

Alicia speaks about the list of performers who will only be working with condoms until the risk is over, and although I believe she is very responsible in her views, I can't help feeling that the underlying issue is contained in that statement. The risk won't ever be over. It will always be there, as it has been as long as they have been performing.

And to be blunt, having seen what the girls will do over in the states, I think it is remarkable that incidents like this are so few. But then, girls who will do such extreme work have been aware all the time they were doing it how much at risk they were in such a production line environment, yet none were insisting on condoms then. And that is why I KNOW that "nasty porn" will continue to be shot without protection.

Hopefully, it will be shot without many of our precious UK performers (not intending any offence to US performers) but it will go on. As much as we like to think this situation will make everyone change their way of working, we know it will only be a temporary caution. And the porn will go on as before. Of course it's consumer led. Argue as long as you like about the mentality of people who buy the products, but we all know it's true. Would viewers buy major cinema productions if all the safety aspects were visible though the special effects?

And considering that the motivation to perform in these films is largely financial, how long will it be before performers are saying, ok, lets go back to the way we were doing it, we've not had as much work recently. I would love to think that our performers were strong enough to stick to that resoution, but would eat my shirt if they did. 30 day testing, as admirable a proposition as it is will not protect the individual, it will only limit the spread in an outbreak, but I bet many performers will go back to work as usual using it to convince themselves they are safer.

One of the clubs I occasionally work at has an on going problem of drive by shootings. Never would I turn up to work there without a bullet proof vest, nor would I wait for others in the industry to provide one for me. And never would I say, ok, no one's been shot for a while, let's work bareback tonight. Though if wearing protection would dramatically effect my earnings, maybe I'd be tempted?

The risk was there every time you did this type of work unprotected. It will still be there when all of this has blown over. But people will still go on performing it because they get paid to do so, and if they don't someone else will. Which is why I think a lot of our performers will go back to doing just the same, even though I hope they prove me wrong.

I hope lots of people get to read what I am going to send to you as I think it may answer a few questions.

As you are aware I rent out my propertys for Adult film productions, and I also run a managment company.

Not long ago, without saying names I had 1 of the u.ks top companys and 2 of the u.ks top male actors ready to film a shoot in my house.

Before filming commenced I was asked to look over the girls certificate, which I found was hand written!!!!!!!!!!

I phoned the clinic that she said the test was done at and they would NOT confirm weather she had been tested let alone the results.

I told the guys the situation and told them that there was no option but to cancell shooting.

I had a meeting to get to so I assumed that they would pack up and go.

How wrong was I.
When I got back I was told they all carried on working with no confirmation on her test.
Thease are some of the people who work nearly every day and have probally worked with nearly everybody in the U.K.
Since this I have banned all filming in my house, I no longer provide models to this production company, and no longer trust some of our so called top male actors.

This shoot was around 2 months ago, so in 1 months time should know if they have HIV, so whos bad now, the girls, the guys or America.

I believe America is still the cleanest place, but having worked with yourself for many years and know how clean and respectable and honest you are, you will always be able to shoot with my models, as for the rest, find some new guys or go to hell.
And to everybody else out there I suggest the UK is also cleaned up and everybody should stop working until everybody is sure everybody is o.k.
Also if the guys read this and they know who they are, I hope you feel fucking guilty.

I can well imagine who, but even the ones who aren't out there aren't much better...had one of the UK's top top guys telling my girlfriend that he was happy shooting with her without a certificate because she had had a certificate in the past (over 6 months ago!) and had a regular boyfriend.

If that is the opinion of these guys for work purposes with total strangers, god knows what they are doing in their social life!

Thanks for the kind words Anna. As we both know there are a lot of good, kind and considerate people in this industry, but there are a few irresponsible bad apples who spoil things for the rest of us.

Hopefully once the furor has died down and the smoke as cleared, we can all go back to work with a different attitude towards testing and healthcare.

As you know, Anna, I have always worked with a current test for HIV and all other STDs and insisted on the same from my fellow performers. I did not find this hampered my work and everyone felt safe.

If people can't work on this kind of basis they should be working condom only anyway, regardless of the latest news from the US.

BTW, to any models out there, Anna Young is the most responsible agent I know and has always put the welfare of her girls above any other concerns. If only more people had that attitude.
