Checking passports? That's a little unfair. I am currently in the US as I have a house out here in Las Vegas. I don't work in the states and I never have. Does that mean I should be excluded from working for 3 months?

Actually what we need is PCR DNA testing. This test will pick up the virus after 2 weeks because it tests for the polymerase template not the antibody as current UK tests do. PCR DNA tests are the standard for the US where they are administered by AIM.

The UK needs an equivalent of AIM that caters specifically to our business with PCR DNA tests and a verification system for performers and producers to be able to check on test validity.

Darren James tested negative with AIM on his return from Brazil, he was later retested some 22 days later and then supplied a positive test result.
This article on AVN by his good friend Mark Anthony even casts some doubt upon whether he indeed contracted HIV in Brazil.



So what is apparent is that a negative cert does not allow for anything that is in incubation.

There is a fund set up to help performers who might meet financial hardship owing to the 2 month break in production.


Rather than buying a DVD this month maybe some forumites might consider donating the cash to the above, or maybe a better idea would be for a fund started to provide better/quicker/more available testing within the UK industry.

Serious...yeah but I fear the actual logistics of setting up such a fund would be a major hurdle.
However if a respected industry insider put up a webpage were a fighting fund for the UK industry and online donations could be paid via Paypal ect
I would happily donate the cost of a couple of DVD's if it meant that UK performers had better testing standards similar to AIM.

Or should I take off my rose tinted glasses and stop dreaming ???

I'm with Alicia on this - the people taking part in this have to make their own decisions. As a viewer and "punter", I fully support whatever they decide.

Hopefully in two-three months time this will all be sorted out to everyone's satisfaction and the condoms can go - as it is, for those whe hate condom porn, there is plenty of stuff already shot out there.

Maybe i've got this wrong but if most viewers want porn bare back, it's what they'll get. Simply because the viewers put the cash into the market and if the current actors and actresses wont perform without, there will always b someone who will. It's a sad fact of life. It's like non-alcoholic beer and menthol cigarettes. Much better for your helath, much less popular.

so why are they shutting down in the states indefinately, if the PCR test is so accurate and quick?They could shut down for 2 weeks if you are correct.

Anyway what pisses me off is that the people over hear who are shouting the loudest about using condoms etc, are the top performers who work abroad, they are saying "We are insisting on wearing condoms before we work with you" (ie us over here). WE should be saying "You wear a fucking condom, before you come near me, you've been in the risk area or better still don't work till you're provenly clear.

Performers bring passport ID to shoots, so whats the problem with checking them. Unfortunately, HIV has to be contained, and my idea is an unpalatable but realistic idea.
Which is exactly why all the hypocrites on this forum have blanked it..............because it might upset one or two of their favourite girls and we wouldn't that would we!!??
