This is why this forum is dying

Post by 31charlie »

When I came on tonight, 25 out of the 30 front page threads were all TV based promotions. In a nutshell, industry professionals don't give a shit who's on GetJizzy TV tonight, only punters do. So, do the maths and realize that by advertising consumer based items constantly you are going to drive trade and industry people away, which has obviously already happened.
Me old mate OEJ may keep posting here till he dies (love you mate!) but it seems most of the other industry people who used to come here (like me) have given up and gone to twitter where we can at least pick and choose what garbage is shoved down our throats. On here you no longer get a choice. . It's TV or nothing :-(

I use twitter more than I use this forum for marketing.

I thought most of the industry folk stopped posting to bury their head in the sand because of ATVOD.

TV and web TV domination of posts is surely the sign of the times and if the forum is dwindling because of twitter and direct social networking then that is surely sign of the times too.

Trends are always on the move

I agree 100% with what Charlie says.

This used to be the forum to find/exchange messages with models but now it is just a tv guide!

Twitter is where it's at and bgafd dead.......

Always said BGAFD should have a twitter presence like its US equivalent Adult DVD Talk

No offence meant guys but BGAFD could be a whole lot better if it joined the social networks, had podcasts and got more pro active with the business in terms of model interviews. This could be a much better place than a hub for a few faceless troublemakers sniping at the business and the stirrings of racism that go on here periodically

I think the term is to stay relevant. Just because the perception of the UK porn business is dying is not a good idea to encourage it by doing nothing

Keep it upbeat and lively. Unless the BGAFD has had its day of course. Sad day if thats the case.

Get in touch if you want some help. We're all in the same game. Let make the BGAFD mean something again

You know my email Use it (if you're interested in my offer of course)

This post should really be kept up at the top on the front page really as something with the TV Promotional posts needs to be done.

And yes i agree that the forum as a whole needs to be completely revamped to stay fresh.

Are the Admins even around on this site anymore?

Personally, i think it would be great for the admin to collaborate with some of the web designers around on this forum (aiming at myself here... haha), to change the site up a little bit.

There isnt any reason the forum couldnt be:
A. Reskinned
B. Add more forum sections for TV promotions
C. Make it into more of a directory for current working UK talent?

Then obviously Twitter/Facebook/Social media integration is fairly straight forward too.

It used to be a forum for producers & models but now its invested with sad people who hide behind their key boards hi jacking sensible threads, why come on here to get abuse from guys that download their porn for free who don't give a toss about the industry.

Have a section just for producers & models & maybe long standing members who can conduct themselves properly...most producers & models i know would prefer a separate section on a refreshed BGAFD...simples !

exactly, the potential for this forum doing really well still exists.

However if nothing is done at any point soon, itll just die out and shut down.

The only alternative is making another website to compete with bgafd and try get people to move over (or use both). But most people are lazy and dont want to register elsewhere haha

I think Kim's reply is exactly why the site is dying.

Many, many moons ago it used to be a place where you could discuss porn, search for titles and models etc and then buy the stuff but you could also let off steam, should a product be crap or if something about the industry got on your tits as a fan etc.

Producers would understandably defend themselves but those letting off the steam were rarely branded 'key board warriors' or given any other insult, unless they had been a twat in how they let the steam off.

These days the moaners get branded, no matter what the issue raised is/was, with the industry turning against the 'fans', supported by other 'fans' who are little more than suck up merchants / industry 'key board warriors' which the posters moaning get branded.
