Streaming & Recording At Same Time ??? Possible ?

OK I am so untechie... but I have a question. I have a SONY HVR Z5E... it's the camera I shoot all my HD stuff with...

Just recently we've streamed live shoots... but via a second camera (normal webcam) I thought how much better it would be if we could record the scene and stream straight from the main camera... but haven't got the faintest idea how to, or if it's even possible...

Anyone know ?

John records all web can sessions of me & my other girl friends but on his Sony camcorder, we are also trying to suss out how to make the web sessions available without having to OK it each time on AW so we can do both when shooting films.

If you do find out please let us know too lol!

You could try using 'ManyCam', its free and safe.

I know it can be used to stream and record via webcam but I presume it would be the same if your Sony was plugged into your computer....

Give it a go, worth a try...

I'm thinking the problem here will be that the HD camera will be much higher resolution and maybe different format too to that required for a live stream. Hence either a hardware or software real-time glitch free converter / processor will be required. If so is anything available at a sensible price?

Hey All... Thanks for the input...

Basically I have a i7 computer with firewire connection... I connect my Sony HDV Z5E to it to render video from the camera to the computer...

I got playing with the idea if it would be possible to both shoot a scene, and at the same time stream it via AW webcam... That's what I am trying to achieve...

Don't really want to spend thousands on additional hard ware... I am going to message AW see if they have any suggestions... but won't be holding my breath lol...
