Remote flash triggers

Post by Nob3y »

Am after getting some remote flash triggers for my Bowens portable studio flash kit.
I have been looking on amazon and ebay but am getting confused with what ones to get.
I have two Bowens flash heads with jack plugs and want to link them so they fire together remotly with my Canon camera.

Any ideas what ones I need?

Thanks in advance

You really need to be on a photography website!

However, I found this site very useful. They're UK based and the postage is included. Just order the trigger/receiver set and an extra receiver.

I always pay with PayPal.....

Something simple like this should do you ok . Your Bowens should have a 1/4" or 4mm jack socket?

2 receivers are not necessarily required as as one flash head should fire the other but should you prefer 2 receivers have a look at this set

I have a "cheap" radio trigger set and it's worked fine for a few years now (having said that, I bet it goes on the blink now !laugh!).

I'm with myson.

You can purchase ebay trigger sets with an extra receiver for low cost, make sure you like using them before purchasing expensive ones.

Mine work perfectly fine & haven't gone wrong in 2 years of having them. I think I spent just over ?20 maybe ?30!

All the best.

I'd get a couple of optical slave triggers that plug in to the sockets on the heads and then trigger from the on-board flash. I think that's the cheapest and simplest option.

I forgot to mention that the Lencarta receivers have a jack adapter so that they both fit large and small sockets. They are also mains powered so that you don't run out of charged batteries which quite a few studios seem to do!

I only used to have one receiver but when I was using a brollie and the sensor was at the back of the other light, or if I was using a grid, sometimes it would not trigger. An extra receiver for ?23 is not bad.

Hope you make your decision well, as it's probably not going to cost you more than sixty-five quid!!!!!!!!!
