Disappointment

Post by Castingf4Januaryfilm »

We were warned by our Casting Director to not use any adult models as they are consistantly unreliable.

We posted on this site before Christmas asking for anyone interested in appearing topless in a scene of a mainstream movie.

We had many emails and we scheduled an interview with one actress - who surprisingly didnt show up and hasnt replied to emails or phone calls.

We are most disappointed that the cliche is true.

I am sure many of you are professional - but it seems that enough of you out there are causing a bad name for everyone

Use a mainstream actress then, plenty of them get their puppies out on film.

I emailed you regarding this work but you never replied and I am VERY reliable and trained in drama and performing arts. A reply even to say that I wasn't suitable would have been sufficient.

I feel bad that you've been let down but let's not drown in hyperbole here - one person letting you down does not mean that everyone in the industry is going to. I'd suggest speaking to the production companies and directors to find out who the reliable actresses are and approach them directly.

then general over all models are reliable, its the odd one like everything in this game give others a bad name, ie a few spoil it for the rest. It's mainly the unknowns that have let me down, maybe because they are just that, unknowns, but the more well known published models are great. maybe it is just luck with the ones I have worked with over the years I don't know.

What ever you have heard it isn't as bad as that, plus you are talking about 1 bad model, that doesn't define the whole industry but not getting the response you were hoping doesn't mean people are un reliable.

To be fair, you don't sound very kosher. You talk about a "Casting Department" and a "Casting Director" as if you are a proper film company, but have no website, only a hotmail address, and give only the vaguest indications of what you need or have to offer.

And as someone points out above, there are plenty of mainstream actresses who are easily cast for any role you like. One poor girl volunteered to have puppet sperm squirted in her face for a recent Frankie Boyle show - there's one for her CV. If mainstream actresses will do that, your reasons for needing to look at the porn industry for your casting begin to look very dubious at best.

I doubt they will check back on here to see all the words in defense of industry girls, it read to me like a hurt pissed of statement rather than an open topic for discusion and we are all guilty of making those.

Its a real shame that there isnt a better releationship between porn and mainstream enterainment as we are a good cheaper source for tits (as I assume it could harm a possible carrier of a main stream actress if she keeps wopping her puppies out so she would expect to be paid more) and as dodgies as alot of porn scrips are we do have experience.

If my casting director warned me that porn girls were flakey I might have spent time doing some research into the background of the girl I had arrange to meet and would probably have invited more than one girl to try out, both to increase my chances of someone turning up and to insure I got the best possible girl for the job but what do I know.

Finaly there are quite a few wanna be film makers that come on here asking for porn girls to be in there films, I have been to meet two and nothing came of either. True both of them worked in film but neither turned out to be who theysaid they were and in one case I think it was a desperate attempt to get a shag or at least be able to have a pretty girl on his arm at a trendy film/tv person hang out. There are time wasters on both sides as in most things so wheres the need to moan.

I agree.

Let me share a little story with BGAFD and you can all draw your own conclusions from it...

When I was about 15 or 16 in about 1982 and I was about to take a drama O level exam, I was taken on a school trip to the Plymouth Theatre Royal, to watch a play called 'Strippers'...

We had to have a parental signed consent form, as the play contained 'Some Nudity'

On the bus down there, some of the conversation was getting a little bit on the excited side, and I remember someone saying 'Sir... So are they 'really' Naked on stage?' The teacher replied 'Yes, thats why you had to have the forms signed...

Then someone else asked 'So... Are they really strippers?' He replied, no they are not really strippers.

A few people were somewhat confused and I dare say disappointed with the fact that they were not 'really' strippers, and someone asked why...

The teacher replied - "Because its a professional theatre production. So its a lot easier to take a trained actress, and teach her how to strip... Than it is to take a stripper and teach her how to act"

And I dare say he had a point...
