This was getting twittered yesterday by Fox Magazine.
That turned into a war of words with people blaming everything but the kitchen sink.
I believe there is talk of a 2 week shut down in the US...

There is no doubt about it, this type of work is risky. Condoms would of course be safer, but they aren't exactly ideal for scenes. Its a risk you have to take, hoping that everyone is as safe and cautious as eachother at all times xx

although we only produce our own amateur content, we always use condoms (unless of course its my husband shagging me ha ha) and have never had anyone complain.

I've just been sent that link!

If the US shut down for two weeks, and they clear it up or whatever they have to do how long will it be before the UK have an outbreak again!?!?

It wasn't that long ago there was a syphilis outbreak here and that wreaked havoc

Talking as a prolific performer , I just hope that we in the UK don't immediately have a "Knee jerk" reaction as a result of this latest scare in LA. The scene there is very different to here, it is like a sausage machine churning out porn every minute of every hour of every day. Many studs drift in and out of the gay/ bi porn sector as well. (I am not suggesting that the actor that has been found HIV positive has been involved in gay porn, by the way.)

We have our own way of doing things here, ours is a cottage industry in comparison, everything is at a slower pace and less people are involved. I'd hate it if we ended up like LA.

As far as all performers wearing condoms is concerned, great idea......if you want to nail the last few nails into the coffin of an already ailing industry.

Many jobs have a risk, firemen, police, the military, roofer, AA man, porn actor/actress, if you don't like it, get another job, simples.

With increasing popularity in amature home shot stuff, Jim is right when he says insisiting we all use condoms could well signal the end of commersial porn as we know it. We do all know the risks involved and we enter everything willingly.

That said this is a horrific thing when it happens to anybody and our thoughts should be with the people and families involved rather than immediatly getting angry and defensive - not that I think anyone here has so far.

On a side note I was interested that you are supposedly only 10 times more likley to get HIV as an adult performer in LA, to be worth mentioning you'd think it would be much higher.

A Gay comment was what caused the twitter flame war... And this problem I find with forums and twitter etc.. is by someone saying something even innocently or miss worded can get missconstrued as a rude or insulting comment even if it wasn't supposed to be, hence why I stay out of posting alot.
