The deleted Amanda Dawkins thread

Post by alec »

In case you were wondering ...

The boring talk about football teams almost did for it. Being *ordered* to delete it saved it for a few hours, but when it started steve56 reminiscing off-topically about 60s pop groups, that was the kiss of death.

When the originating post goes so does the whole thread; so if there were any ON-topic points made in the thread, feel free to re-post them.

"The boring talk about football teams almost did for it"

I can empathise with that.

"Being *ordered* to delete it saved it for a few hours,"

Yes, I don't know what was said in this instance because the thread looked far to boring for me to click on it anyway - I've developed a sixth sense about this. But those incoherent knob heads that from time to time pop up and practically demand that a thread be deleted get up my nose to. These people are usually nutmegs who don't know whether they're on this earth or Fuller's earth anyway.

" but when it started steve56 reminiscing off-topically about 60s pop groups, that was the kiss of death."

steve56 at it again then? He was only told off a couple of day ago, what a chap he is!

Been a little bit dismayed at the warning Mr Doran had as early as two days ago, and yet he appears to have shrugged it off and resorted to posting complete shite again. C'mon Woodgnome, enough IS enough!!

I saw the original thread but exercised restraint and didnt join in possibly due to me being sober. For the Amanda fans who are wondering what they missed dont worry the thread was more to do with Madchester and the lovely Miss Bendy Limbs was barely mentioned.

I remember partaking in another Manchester related thread a few months ago where several posters (myself included much to my shame) made posts in the style of Liam and Shaun Ryder and various other Madchester musicians. Bez from the Happy Mondays also made an appearance. That thread also got deleted. I blamed myself at the time but now that a similar but less humerous thread in which I was not involved has gone down the pan I feel absolved of my sins.

Ace,

Have you automated the Steve56 putdown?

Must save you a lot of time.

But to be fair Ace, our old mate Stevie-D was put under huge temptation by the other posters to that thread who were even more o/t than Stephen(I know that takes some doing!). People were naming everything famous to come out of Manchester(with the exception of dysentry and cholera) and poor old Steve joined in with some reference to a 60s band. At that point I switched off so perhaps his ramblings got worse but I missed that due to watching the excellent Buried on C4(sorry o/t). I guess the mods saw what was about to happen and nipped it in the bud.

Anyway the mods know where to draw the line and call a halt to things without us lot telling them how and when to do so. I know the man is annoying you Ace but if the "guvnors" ie the moderators were to be influenced by any posters dislike of another poster it would compromise thier impartiality.

I know! I misspelt humour. Before anyone points it out. Spellchecks are for soft shites. I live on the edge. Poor spelling is kool. Blame the education cuts that Thatcher imposed (another bit of Dibble baiting there from Mr Magoo).

Too Right...the mods know best...if the cry for SDs head becomes a crescendo them I'm sure the random deletion method would the favoured response.Certainly worked the last time I remember it being used

Next it'll be all Aussies off the forum because of our superior
sporting prowess....lol

I'd certainly vote for that.
ONLY KIDDING.......it did get a bit silly, and then someone took it seriously.
