I've always wondered what went into making a porno movie anybody in the industry willing to show me or tell me! Just curious!
Seen bits on TV but you know how much it's censored in the UK.
Thanks in advance.
Always wondered....... !!
Re: Always wondered....... !!
Got to be a daft question.
IF you've seen vids, you KNOW what goes into making them - unless you are referring to the guy's bank (im)balance.

Re: Always wondered....... !!
He may mean planning etc. If so, the best bet is to get one of those DVDs that has a 'Making of' section in the extras and bear in mind that this is unlikely if it's a gonzo movie.
I recommend Les Campeuses de St Tropez from Blue One because of -
the presence of Violet Storm, Tiffany Hopkins etc.,
it's a film made by Alain Payet who has been making porn 'films' since the late 70s,
you get to see Dominique Aveline providing hope for us all at 63 (if I caught some of the dialogue right in his birthday celebrations during the making of the film),
but most of all because you get to see Phil McCavity dressed up as Benny Hill complete with pith helmet.

Re: Always wondered....... !!
I ment how does the producer go about filming the movie: does he get a layout & think yeah girl x would be good in this. Does a girl get a call & think yeah I like working with that producer & that leading guy etc.
I know somebody who does work on these films & they have told me abit about them but only from their side.
Sometimes you watch these films & it feels like it's just like production line churring out the same stuff, got to more too it than that!!!

Re: Always wondered....... !!
Alec, I have enough trouble with him and his kilt as it is. Pith helmets I do not need and as you can see, I'm still sober enough to spell "pith"
Actually, If you ask him & Violet no doubt they will send you some absolutely great shots of themselves on a mechanical monster that is casually referred to as a motorbike (I think)
As I said a couple of days ago, he's now got rid of it and it's successor - before the world loses two lovely people.
(If he thinks of getting another one,I'm going to shoot him.

Re: Always wondered....... !!
For the budgets we now get, it is just like churning out stuff. The money gets less and less and thus we can't put much creativity in any more. It's basically 5 scenes 4 positions and a cum shot, there you are Mister distributor pay me, thank you now onto the next one. Sad reflextion I know but the distributor knows that the guy who buys it even if he doesn't like it WILL be back to buy another. It is why in the States the market is just totally flooded with so much product it doesn't really matter what quality it is as it all sells about the same. Which isn't that many, believe it or not. It will sell whether it's crap or good. Dave Sullivans stuff & Fiona Coopers stuff here is a great example. Utter rubbish but it sells amazingly well.
Re: Always wondered....... !!
I'm sure one of these kind gents will invite you along to a shoot......

"but the distributor knows that the guy who buys it even if he doesn't like it WILL be back to buy another."
That's not quite the case anymore Dave, all the producers and distributors I know would think they?d won the pools if the punters would come back to buy as much as they did before.
"it doesn't really matter what quality it is as it all sells about the same."
Yes, one of my producer pals went to sound out Prime Time distributors to see if they'd have a market for some real quality gear. The answer was yes they?d love it but they could only give a few hundred dollars per volume as that is what they were paying for titles from the States and more importantly that is what their competitors were paying for titles from the States. And as you point out they'd probably sell just the same amount of a quality title as some scabby low rent gutter production.
"it all sells about the same. Which isn't that many, believe it or not."
I do indeed believe it.
"It will sell whether it's crap or good."
By the criteria I use most new movies are shite and I don't know of anyone who is selling shed loads, sales graphs are plunging down, both here and in the States. This seems to suggest that the punters aren't overly impressed with the current offerings either.
By the way Dave, just been watching you in up at the old 'Mammary Manor' and I have to take my hat off to you - even had to loosen the old strides when Tracy Gibb came on! Those were the days hey? Proper films, proper birds, the real deal.

Re: Always wondered....... !!
obviously wink wink you will know if you have seen any of the recent british efforts, that the producers/directors go to great lengths getting the right blend of performer to perform in the right situation and that forward planning has went in to every scene, so that you .. the customer can settle back and enjoy the biggest load of shite purveyed since Ben Dover picked up a camera hope that helps old chap.
crofter (who having seen John Masons/OEJ/Officer Dibbles Wife Watcher tape has lost the will to leave a salty deposit for a while).
cheers oh great producers/distributors of this once great land.
