This ?700 royalty sounds dubious. He claims that every time one of his films airs he gets a cheque for ?700 ? But then why go on these programmes and say you're living the dream and in the same breath admit that you're income is a) fairly modest and b) irregular ?

Possibly, for him the dream is more about the perks than the income. I know that many guys would do the job for nothing - and some actually do.
Personally I don't drop my trousers for anyone other than the missus these days and I have to bloody-well pay her!!!
