Aren't people just annoyed with them because of their attitude here? claims/arrogance/threatening to take legal action against the forum/members?? Not actually the people who work behind the scenes etc etc.

If something is hyped in public so much then it better be good or people are gonna voice their opinions.

The fact that you've worked for them kinda dictates your argument. Why should they deserve a pat on the back more so than anyone else here? Cause they have more money? Do they work harder?

I'm not a producer, but it's not hard to understand why some UK producers would be kinda pissed at them. Signing all the decent girls to exclusives, paying them over the odds, bigging themselves up to be the saviour etc etc. It's like the Chelsea FC of UK Porn.

Your post just sounds like a lot of ass kissing to me so they'll book you again. They "make porn that you lot dream of seeing".....

not really. If you think that 1 company owning video rights to half of the talent is a good for our little cottage indutry then you haven't got a clue.

I think they did it because they could. No other reason. I don't think they needed to, it's not like there's many other companies willing to pay what they pay, but whatever.

No offence to any of the girls on the list but I think it's delusional to think that some of those girls are going to be drawing any kind of traffic. Ask some of the girls how well their own personal sites performed? That will tell you just how hardcore their hardcore fans are. I haven't even heard of half of them and suddenly they're 'contract stars'.

No matter how many times I read your OP, it doesn't sound like anything other than ass kissing. Sorry.

I'm not targetting you at all, you made the post? People have the right to reply. ESPECIALLY when YOU are saying that should ALL stand behind them united like it's something we should all be proud of.

ATTN ALL MEMBERS AND STAFF OF BLUE BIRD FILMS: Its good to show some solidarity for the company you work for but bear in mind, the commentaries made so far was not about its integrity as a producer. Just gripes about the websites. Thats all. Not its content. Not individuals (Paul, Hiwatt excluded)

I wish people would read all the posts without taking the stance that it is just a jealous bitch fest at Blue Birds expense.

Nuff said now.

Otherwise we really run the risk of going off on a complete different tangent and getting lost in a storm of nonsense.

Hi Charlie,

You're right. I've also been to the Bluebird studios, and everyone there, without exception that I could see, was polite, professional, friendly and hard-working. I've also met the guys running the business, and found them pleasant and entertaining people. They've invested a lot of money to create a lot of good content. They've provided performers with a lot more money than they'd have earned otherwise, so well done to them.

My two cents on the major issues that have caused controversy...

The web site: First, after spending so much on studios and production, they launch one of the most amateurish web sites I've seen in a while. I'm perplexed as to why that happened. If you've spent a few million on content, why not spend a few thousand on a decent web site? This isn't 1995 - it's been done before. Undoubtedly they'll learn from their mistakes and relaunch with a better site.

Pricing: they've received criticism on the pricing, but IMHO it's good that some people aren't discounting everything to the hilt. Besides, we're one of the more expensive online services around (we justify this by providing a good web service, good streaming and a fantastic choice of content, adding about 200 new scenes each week). But thanks to Bluebird, we're no longer among the more expensive sites. !wink!

Sales figures: according to Bluebird they made around 26,000 sales in their first few days of trading. Also, given the fairly small amount of traffic they are receiving to the site (see graph link below), they probably have the greatest conversion ratio ever seen in the adult industry, even during the halcyon days of the 90s. In my 12 years of experience with adult web sites, I've never seen any site launch so successfully, so I can only congratulate Bluebird on this magnificent feat.

Here's an Alexa graph showing Bluebird traffic against a number of more established British sites:
