where's it all go

Post by do-ron »

I do not know about the porn business, I,m just a collector of stuff I like, but have noticed that those visting the site obviously know all there pretty much is. So what happens to a filmset, who actually owns it? What happpens to the edited material..the cutting room floor. What about magazine photo shoots, what actually happens to a shoot of loads of pics and why can we not access them or buy them from some one as I'd like loads from some of my favourite models, what a waste.Who owns them, the mag, studio or photogragher?

"Who owns the film sets?" Why, the producers of the movie of course. Provided they have the requisite model releases that is.

"Edited material...cutting room floor?" Where have you been for the past ten years? Porno is shot on video tape nowadays! So there is no tape on cutting room floors and the material that is shot is only edited and released at the producers discretion. A commercial decision.

"Magazine photos?" Of course you can access them - just buy the relevant magazine.

Thanks for the help Die Hard, and whilst your at it why don't you state the bloody obvious.

Do ron, I know of one series of films where the company will put out an edited series, but will still keep the unedited version. All of the material shot is purchased in this case and only the hot bits are used, the rest is just left to gather dust. I was in the process of tracking some stuff down and was quoted ?250 just for one tape of unedited stuff. Pricey or what!

Thanks for the more helpful approach, The chuckster ! Yeah, what I,m saying is that there must be a lot of material out there that collects dust which is stupid. When photographers do a shoot they might do 100 shots or more and the mag uses say ten. EG "Busen" do longer photo sets which are the same as "score" so it has always struck me that if the ownwer would sell copies he could make more money again. If only we could get to archive material.
