I to-day purchased the new "Ravers" magazine, the reason I buy this rag is to read about our old friend Ben's latest exploits.The current splurge is about the latest range of vids "Cumming of Age" Vol. 1. This consists of a further repackaging of ancient scenes from both the numbered series and the Ben Dovers themselves, now available from licensed sex shops nationwide, if there is such a place outside London, and if there are I wouldn't be seen dead in them. (That's my local one)The whole point of this drivel is to say that I am a great admirer of Ben and all his works, but I do object to the use of the new R18 classification to confuse the issue as to what is new and what is re-hashed. I currently stick with US issued DVD, which I trust to be new stuff. Any thoughts on this matter?

Since some of the old stuff which people in this country have seen will have been pirated, you can hardly blame him for making his stuff legally available for purchase in licensed sex shops and thus making an honest penny or two from British sales. Some of it will have had to be edited slightly for bbfc guidelines or scenes left out for other reasons - see ancient discussions in this forum by using the search function - and this partly accounts fro changes in titles. AFAIK all the numbered stuff has been re-packaged for America, or if it hasn't I've not found the original numbered volumes (I know there may be some untidiness in the database with some 'Vol ? repackaged in ' entries which I have not yet removed.)

However, it does add further complications to our lists here. Who is in this one?

Oh, and Alec, if it helps clear up any residual confusion, the relevant scenes are: Tiffany as Mary, out with her dog, picked up by Ben & Mario who goes on about his strip work for about 15 minutes; Vanessa's birthday, incredibly hot "initiation"-type scene with Omar & David Perry; castings of Nicky & Lisa, then at the end the whole scene (minus pissing) from BD6/English Muffins.

Thanks again - Tiffany is the only one of those who has done two different scenes (TVX episodes and 18-cert apart) so that clears that up.

I've never found it too difficult to find out when a movie was made. Seeing as you pretty much only get originals if you buy direct from the producer these days, it's always difficult to know exactly what you're going to get until it's whirring away in your computer or on your video or DVD.

I usually check out iafd.com for the reviews, which nearly always include a note as to when it was made. That gives you some indication.

When scenes are repackaged under different titles and three scenes from the original release appear again under three different new titles, you might have a long search for the relevant three reviews.

That would be clearer if I said three scenes in one new title from three different originals as in this case.
