Hypocrisy, part 2876

Post by Otis »

A quick story.

Just last night I was checking out a new Soho shop which will obviously remain nameless, and spotted two people I knew by sight. They too will obviously remain nameless, but I remembered them from when I worked in the rock business - both were very successful writers for well-known music papers. Now sure, there's nothing unusual about people involved in rock music buying porno videos, but one thing struck me. I recall both of these guys writing stuff about porn at one stage or another - one of them did something standing up for porn (and porn actresses in particular), sneering at people's hypocrisy in slagging off porno films when if one was delivered to their house by accident, they'd keep it. But the other wrote a big article reviewing a range of dirty films (as an "investigation"), the tone of which was basically "hahaha, what sort of sad git could ever watch this rubbish, oh it's so faked, Ben Dover is like your mate's dad" etc. etc. Obviously, a couple of years later, he's privately re-opened his "investigation".

Some people...
