Ok then it's Saturday and I have nothing to do but stir up a can of worms. As some of you may know I have had relationships with at least 2 girls on this site. Both were attractive and intelligent and had very good jobs. However they were both under the power of older guys who they insisted made them do what they did. Then there are other girls who post to this forum who claim they are clued up and it's the punters who are the exploited ones, but upon futher contact just seem dumb slappers! What is the deal. I'm not throwing mud or calling anyone, but if the cap fits then wear it.
Does anyone else know any pornstars and if so do they have a mind of their own or are they the exploited ones allowing the producers to make a nice living.

my only non-hearsay contribution, is based upon the communications i've had with one well known model in the biz.
she, for one, is independent in the management of her own affairs, concerning career decisions, personal life, etc. she also has a degree in a subject far fancier than anything i could obtain myself and will be taking advanced studies in that field, at some point. (i'm to dumb to even know what it's called!)
i met up with her for a drink the other week - she was charming (matt!) intelligent (obviously) and patently, a very positive individual. she also looked more beautiful in 3d than on the screen!

This might just help to cast light on an otherwise unanswerable question.
Many years ago (1970s and early ?80s) I worked for several of the men?s mags. One of my jobs (which I chose for myself) was to interview the models and, in the line of duty, ask them impertinent questions about their sex lives without getting my face slapped.
Of course these were glamour models, not porn stars. So I admit that my ?statistical sample? (about 30 different girls) is not ideal for this subject. But my ?results? might be of interest.
I was expecting to find that the girls ? all attractive and proud enough of their bodies to want to show off ? would have something special in common. And guess what it was? They were all attractive and proud enough of their bodies to want to show off. And that was it!
Some were regulars; some were ?readers? wives? or amateurs who had a go for a laugh and then quickly disappeared. Some (usually the regulars) were single and following (yes really) a career. The amateurs who had boyfriends often disappeared quickly because ?him indoors? got jealous. But many had boyfriends who were equally proud of their love-one?s charms and got a kick out of imagining all the rest of us coming in our pants: ?You can look as much as you like, mate ? but I know she?s coming home with me.?
The vast majority of these girls had perfectly normal sex lives. A few of the regulars did do hardcore abroad (the British porn industry didn?t exist ? at least not officially) and of these about half did it out of curiosity and left it at that ? the other half went back for more. And of the amateurs, two were into group sex and swapping and stuff.
Only one girl said that she was basically being pimped by her boyfriend. Two others were unwise enough to go abroad without a return ticket and then discovered the job was hardcore, not the soft stuff they had been expecting.

I take personal offense at your statement...My wife is and was doing what she did of her own free will for the money...She has a BA degree and spent the first 4 years of her working life as a police officer.

I have worked with a great number of Models, some of who happen to be porn stars as well. The truth is you will find a great selection of women doing this work. They are no and can be NO generalizations! Some of the women I know are professionals outside of "the biz" owning their own companies, practicing nurses (and even a soon to be doctor!!!) and so on. The other side also exists but we tend to shy away from that sort!!

I notice (did anyone else?) that you didn't ask for comments on porn stars as a whole. You asked if any porn stars we know are 'slappers'. Thats good, cos asking for a comment on such a wide and varied group of people would be a bit unrealistic.
I've met and have had friendships with ex-performers and a certain music band still playing occasionally within the adult industry at select functions. They have always been fun to be with, articulate and wise. A world apart from the sheep like conformity most of the rest of us live our lives like. Dumb slappers? Anything but. They could no doubt have taught you a thing or two about being an individual. I found my time with them to be inspirational to say the least.
If performers ARE being exploited by others, this doesn't make them dumb or stupid. It makes them exploited. Nothing more. I'd imagine it can be so difficult to see it when it's happening to you. What they need is your help and support, your compassionate listening ear and caring shoulder should they need it (if you're in an opportunity to provide that).
What they do not need is speculation on how stupid they might be.
As for punters being exploited, I never feel exploited. I have money, and I like to enjoy porn with it from time to time. I'd like to think I am helping support the industry and help provide those in the films with a living but at the end of the day it's a business.
