Having read handsome's post and the replies therein, I got thinking about how many times I've asked for models and been accused of being a pervert, dodgy character or words to that affect.

What seems to be lacking here is a certain level of trust between people, people who happen to be pretty much involved in the same thing - filming men and women taking off their clothes and fucking on film for money.

Let's not try and dress it up any other way; what we do is not art, nor is it worthy of awards for best picture or best actor/actress. We make porn, plain and simple, which most of the time has little or no plot.

As such, I get mightly pissed off when a fellow adult film maker, be he/she an amateur like myself or a professional, asks for help sourcing models. It's almost like we are acting like kids in the playground...I've got my models and you can't have them or know where I found them.

So, for all of our sakes, let's share the love.

I could not have put it better myself. In L.A. there is tons and tons of sharing of information. Sometimes we fight and sometimes we spit at each other.

But at the end of the day we always kiss and make up when it comes time to make MONEY.

However if it helps....
As an outsider to this wonderful country. (It is wonderful and I love it soo much already. Britian RULES!)

Now before I get people jumping down my throat...
I understand I'm talking in generalities and I'm not trying to be racist. My official opinion is NO country is better than any other. You learn to accept the good and bad of where you live.

Therefore, let's just say that each culture has it's share of "little quirks." Canadians can be very apathetic. And I have learned Americans can very hostile.

As for you Brits...

If I was in a room of 20 people and started to talk about something new or different. There would be a small, but very vocal, group screaming that it's "Dodgy." Sure it pisses me off but there is nothing I can say or do to change their minds.

The porn industry is the same. You just have to accept it.

So... As I get my productions off the ground I'll gladly share my information with you.

Adult work is what it is... Quite a few models are happy to work for amateurs to their own hardest levels and quite a few more won't.

When someone who is unknown posts with very little verifiable information about themselves, they will be queried. It makes sense.

Any photographer can have a portfolio on Net Model or One Model Place free of charge, whether Pro or Am. All an amateur needs do is to have a few pics on one of those sites and a link to them when posting here, and they are then seen as being legitimate, and the attacks might stop

A models safety is everyones #1 priority and even in the pro world nasty stuff can happen.

Some good responses to kick things off, so thanks to Kelly and Joe for getting the ball rolling. I agree 100% with Joe that the safety of the model is paramount.

Even in the murky world of the amateur pornographer, there is always a concern regarding the safety of the people who star, especially the women. That's why I have a trusted team of people who help me out for no money who make sure nothing "dodgy" happens.

I would hope that the girls who have worked with me would say that when doing a shoot with me, whether it be solo gonzo style or with a boy/girl, they feel safe and not pressurized into doing anything they don't want to do. The irony of this is that sometimes girls will do things they don't think they can do because they feel safe.

If any of the girls who have worked with me read this, please feel free to be as honest as you want.

So, any more angles on this issue?
