We know that Claude Valmont and Thierry de Brem are two different porn actors.
I once heard from skatschko (also on this forum) that Claude Valmont was the real name of Thierry de Brem, and indeed the IMDb gives Claude Valmont as an alternative name for Thierry de Brem. Which would be confusing, but I suppose it's possible.
Unfortunately, the IMDb goes a step further (and gets it therefore wrong) by just identifying the two actors.
Which leads me to ask the experts here: is the association of the names Claude Valmont with Thierry de Brem actually substantiated in any way, or has simply someone got it horribly wrong, messing up the IMDb entries, and the two names have really no connection whatsoever? Does someone here know for sure?
Thierry de Brem & Claude Valmont
Re: Thierry de Brem & Claude Valmont
They are two different actors, and physically quite different ones, besides !

... and, to answer to the precise question, the association of the two name by any data base, is not justified... no credits titles of any movie has ever named one instead of the other, nor did it vice versa.

Re: Thierry de Brem & Claude Valmont
Just one observation to straighten things up. What beutelwolf is referring to was actually my passing on to him the information that the Encyclocin? website claims that Claude Valmont was the "real" name for Thierry de Brem. Such a misunderstanding was seemingly reproduced in IMDB. FWIW, I highly doubt whether this corresponds to reality. I haven't found any confirmation whatsoever in any other sources. Despite reproducing film data as submitted to the French CNC (Centre National de Cin?matographie), Encyclocin? is not always to be trusted.... !confused!
Re: on names & some parts of both
I think that it could be the real name in the case of T. de B. - I am not positively sure about it but I have never heard any other name used to design him, when professional talked about him - but Claude Valmont is definitely a pen-name. And his real name has nothing to do with the name of T. de B.
Some examples in order to give you a quick idea of the physical differences, or to refresh memories of our readers :
- Claude Valmont plays the garage boss in COUPLE "LIB?R?" CHERCHE COMPAGNE "LIB?R?E" (Fr. 1981) directed by Burd Tranbaree, and plays the main part of the hero in LES PETITES FILLES (Fr. 1978) directed by Francis Leroi.
- Thierry de Brem plays Roger de la Nauzi?re in ORGASMES (Fr. 1978) directed by Pierre B. Reinhard and plays the main part of the hero in FIEVRES D'?T? (Fr. 1980) directed by the same Reinhard.
First one was a little fat, wearing glasses, partly without hair, looking 40 years old easily, whereas the second one was looking 25 years old, quite handsome, with a "rocky-kind" cut of hair...
