The Stephen Lawrence trial...

Post by max_tranmere »

So we now have these two guys in the dock accused of killing Stephen, 18 years after the event. I seem to recall there were originally five people who the authorities were certrain did it, now they are only sure these two did it. I am certain they will go down this time, the Police and the Courts would be very afraid of appearing incompetent all over again if another trial (this is the third one) concluded and they got off again. I am intrigued by all this 'new evidence' that has apparently been 'discovered' after all these years, this could be the Police just fitting the two suspects up, and have planted it (it was always rumoured that was how the Police got the conviction against Liverpool gangster Curtis Warren). These two are certainly guilty anyway and if it helps ensure a conviction then I suppose it is worth it. It would be better to do it properly though. I can not imagine the hoo-ha there will be if these two got away with it again, there would probably be rioting and Neville and Doreen Lawrence (now estranged) would most likely emigrate.

(Max is back, I've been on holiday but have now returned).

they should just find them guilty tomorrow and have done with it as they havent a chance of being found not guilty. They have been tried and convicted by the media for the last 18 years.I just wonder why the police and courts dont put this much effort into convicting black people who murder whites?

FYI Max Neville lawrence went back to the caribbean several years ago

Black people are over represented in the prison population which suggests that authorities are zealous in terms of processing them through the criminal justice system.

Unfortfunately the defence will be able to argue that the, "New" forensic evidence is of no value, since over 18 years together with police incompetence and laxness could have easily resulted in cross contamination of the articles taken from the victim and the accused.

Remember the jury has to find the accused guilty, "Beyond reasonable doubt". I wouldn't be surprised if the two accused walked again!

It must be a never ending nightmare for the Lawrences.

You are quite right. That's why jails are full of whites. You never see a black guy in jail convicted of murder.

Personally I blame Blair and Brown. The message went out "Don't arrest those black folks on murder charges because if we do, they won't vote for us in the next election!"

And when you think about it, this is a perfectly logical point of view.

I suspect this is why Blair and Brown were so keen on Human Rights legislation and being a fully paid up member of the EU. Cos it meant that if a Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian etc who came over here in the millions, committing crimes, raping and murdering our women they couldnt be sent back home even in the very, very unlikely event that they were caught and convicted.

WHy, because it is a well known fact that all immigrants vote Labour.

Scandalous, I call it!

Eyewitness accounts are notoriously innaccurate so 18 year old versions should be thrown straight out by the judge. Any qualified psychologist will tell you this for free. This is trial by media, not jury. You could put Mother Teresa and Daffy Duck in the box and they will be found guilty.

Amen. Would like to have seen Mother Teresa in the dock for the thousands that suffered needlessly under her care.

It seems so much a given that these two will go down. Does that mean though that the other three (of the original "Lawrence Five") could now claim harrassment by media and the Police over the last 18 years? They could actually sue the Daily Mail, who asked them to sue them with that "Murderers" front page splash they did a few years ago.

article:

It is very clear that all five of them were there that night, but only a maximum of two could have done the stabbing - as he was stabbed twice.
