Hi,
Rupert Murdoch admits huge defeat. So News Corp has moved from their position in 2009 which was it was only one rogue reporter involved in hacking and the Guardian has deliberately misled the British public to....in 2011 closing down the newspaper.

Its great that the NOTW has been closed down but it comes with the usual Murdoch spin: this Sunday's NOTW will carry no adverts (trans: no fucker will advertise in the paper, we're toast!); the proceeds of the last copy will go to charities (trans: people are so unbelievably pissed off with us that it might screw up the BSkyB deal, I know we hacked the phones of dead soldiers' families to sell a few papers, lets give the charities a few quid and hope for the best).

What this news does nothing to change is that:
1. Senior NOTW executives authorised the payment of over ?100,000 to bent coppers in return for services rendered.
2. The police are carrying out a criminal investigation into the potential hacking of about 4,000 people's phones.
3. The NOTW stated that despite prior investigations they knew nothing about the hacking of Millie Dowler's phone for 9 years until the Guardian published the story on Monday. Within 48 hours the NOTW had found out who in the newspaper authorised it. Couldnt have been that hard then?
4. Rebecca Wade should be out of the door as should James Murdoch.
5. News Corps have consistently lied about the extent of phone hacking.
6. News Corp do not fulfil the fit and proper person criteria that Ofcom should use with regard to the BSkyB takeover.

And if Murdoch thinks he can get away with a Sunday edition of the Sun, he is even more of a shithead than I think he is.

I notice in David Johnson`s earlier blog this week on the NOTW phone
hacking that Mr Slip said Murdoch would fire a few people and then the
NOTW would be back to business as usual !
Wrong Jimbo ! Dead wrong ! It is worth noting that The Sun will now
probably become a 7 day a week paper but, even if it digs up some
tabloid gossip/crap it can never be seen to be so hypocritically,
moralistically, scummy and foul as that cesspit which was/is the NOTW.
Personally, I will raise a glass of vino on Sunday to its demise and wish
that many of those whose lives were blighted by its humiliation of them
in public, often for the most harmless of sexual passions, can rest in
their graves !

Yes Mr Thring, I was wrong! You may dance a war dance around your luxury apartment and make pow! wow! Red Indian sounds at my expense! I didn't think Murdoch would close the NOTW down, but before we get too hysterical with joy, this is an international, media megalomaniac we are talking about, a member of the Illuminati, a true Godzillionaire in league with the Devil himself, he's got to have another trick up his sleeve!
