I love this story
I particularly like the bit
"Mrs Bourne, who is married to Freddie?s 63-year-old father Edward, even said Miss Withers? behaviour had left their pet dog Bomber ?profoundly upset, depressed and anxious?.
How did she know the dog was "profoundly" upset? Presumably Bomber stuck his paws in his ears every time her future daughter in law spoke.
Or maybe he turned over and played dead every time she walked into the room.
Great!

Patricia Routledge's Mrs Bouquet springs to mind...

I'm with the mother on this. Although it might have been better to send her thoughts in a letter rather than an email, the young woman clearly doesn't have an ounce of self-awareness in her.

She would appear to have been, in the eyes of her host at least, rude, insensitive, unaware of how she might be regarded, immature, selfish, unwilling to fit in to her host's general routine, and indiscrete. Quite typical of many people these days who haven't a clue about manners.
