'The Edge' Can't do What He Wants - BAH!

U2's The Edge (aka David Evans) has been told his proposed housing development in Malibu would be environmentally naughty. I wonder if he'll lecture himself about saving the planet etc.

He wears his sunglasses even when he's IN the house! Now the question is,

Apparently Bono wears those special glasses because he has a problem with his eyes. He said a couple of years ago that if someone takes a photo of him with a flash, and he's not wearing the glasses, he will see the light from the flash in front of him for the rest of the day. Hence, why he wears the specs all the time.

The Edge (or 'Dave' as the other three apparently call him) apparently has co-ownership of the pad in the south of France. He and Bono (or 'b' as everyone else, including his wife, apparently call him - even though his real name is Paul) share the place.

I've always found it odd when globe-trotting rock stars, who leave a vast carbon footprint with their enourmo-tours, private jets, and everything else, bang on about how we should 'go green'. The Edge must have done vast damage to the environment flying between his homes all over the world and his 'green' estate in Malibu yet he goes on about green issues.

If someone totted-up the environmental damage done by U2's current stadium tour (the highest grossing tour in history) it would exceed that which was done by a small nation yet, hey, these guys believe in 'going green'! I can't really talk though as I'm a fan of the band and saw them on this tour.

The Mega Celebs like to think their carbon neutral because they buy/sponsor forest plantations and drive cars like the prius or the worst of the lot run electric cars which are fueled by clean green technology.

All a bit of a mind wank as the facts are pretty clear its industry that is the major cause of all th enviromental degradation and pollution not us individuals.

Time and again through laws industries have cleaned up their acts when the penalties for not complying are worse than investing...

The technology is already here but they dont have the incentive to change.

instead we get hit over the head with messages from celebs

"change the light bulbs and save the globe"

Funny how theres no message about

"keep your old HD TV and use a set-top box because it consumes very little power as opposed to buying a plasma HD tv which by comparison needs an entire power grid of its own"

Hes the ONLY one in the band who looks a decent bloke.
As for his guitar prowess, hes average at best. Its his effects that give the sound. Give him a plain acoustic and ask him to busk, he wouldn't get a second look
