I uploaded my vids as WMV files using Pinnacle Studio Plus 10 as the program to create them on a PC using Windows XP.
Problem is I have had complaints that MAC users cannot view them, (green screen with just sound), and no amount of downloading of any programs or updates solves the problem.
I purchased a program called ImTOO DVD to WMV Converter 4 and was able to create WMV files that could be viewed on MAC - but the sound and vision is seriously out of synch.
I went onto the Pinnacle website to find an answer to this problem, but no luck.
Does anybody out there have a practical solution please?

Re: WMV and MAC problems
I'm a mac user and was able to view the trailers on your site without any problems (haven't joined so don't know if they are in a different format to the full vids?). I've installed flip4mac that allows wmv files to be played in the QuickTime player on your mac.
I also have VLC player installed that is able to play many video formats.

Re: WMV and MAC problems
I have to agree with Welshman, I have no problems playing the trailers on a Mac (PPC, OS X version 10.5.6) using QuickTime 7.6 and Flip4Mac Studio Pro 2.2.1.11.
Are the trailers and the full movies encoded in the same way?
Note: latest version of Flip4Mac is 2.2.2.3.

Re: WMV and MAC problems
The trailers and full vids are encoded using the same program, the only difference being the size of the image. Trailer 360 x 288, full vid 720 x 576.
I have uploaded a test for you MAC users here:
Save it to your harddrives and see if that works.

Re: WMV and MAC problems
No, that doesn't play.
The trailers (that do play, ie: ) show a format of Windows Media Video 9 Standard, whereas, the full vid shows a format of Windows Media Video 9 Advanced.
I'm presuming that the difference between Standard and Advanced may be the problem.

Also No Sound
No sound with the full test, either.
Formats, again, are slightly different. Full is 48.000 kHz and trailer is 44.100 kHz ? although I don't see that causing the problem. I've played lots of movies in both formats without any problems.

Re: WMV and MAC problems
I got a green screen with sound as described in your first post, I tried viewing it with flip4mac, VLC and real player. This is the error message VLC gave me:
main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `WMVA'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

Re: WMV and MAC problems
Perian does not support WMV files: supported file/video types.
Flip4Mac is the only codec for QuickTime on the Mac that does support certain WMV file types: details.

Re: WMV and MAC problems
I've just using VideoSpec to check profile of your test movie and this preview clip that I detailed earlier.
The previews format is WMV3 ? which Flip4Mac does support.
Your test movies format is WMVA ? which, from what I can see, is not supported.
