Obama - Our Part In His Success

Post by Steve R »

Along with many other things we have to thank them for, Black people are rightly proud of The Blues, Muhammad Ali, Jimi Hendrix and a black President.

However, none of these things would have been possible without something that we gave to them.

Can you name it?

I think it's the Krankies! It's well known that Ian was a prolific blues guitarist, he palyed a Gibson ES335, but persuaded Hendrix to use a Telecaster and introduced him to lighter fuel.
Jannette was world heavywieght championship boxer, she met Ali, whilst he was waiting for her autograph outside Madison square gardens one night after a title fight...the rest is history.
It's a well known secret, that Jannette, had an affair with a Kenyon goatherder, they had a child, they called the child 'Barry' he was adopted and when on to study law and politics........

Did I win owt?

What do you mean by 'we'? Presuming you mean white folk, perhaps the answer is racism, and the impetous to rise above the petty, historic, vicious, patronising, careless, thoughtless, casual manifestations of said malady that continue to confront large sections of society and succeed despite it.

They were employed after a fashion but their human rights were denied from the point at which they were enslaved. There's a lot more to human dignity than having a job.

I still prefer the Krankies theory.
