I'm not joking, but when I heard the word "London" rather than, as I expected, "Paris" at the IOC meeting, my first reaction was "oh fuck", and I haven't seen anything to change that since. This cunting thing is going to cost us ?20 billion we can't afford before it's over. Let's give it to Athens, they have built all the bloody facilities, which are just gathering dust. Present it as a green alternative, it's just a form of recycling after all. And to repeat myself, oh fuck.

Well i disagree as the olympics are now less than four years away it will mean that money will have to be spent recession or not, we may be paying for it for years to come but we would only be wasting the money somewhere else and the olympics could just be what the UK needs to pull it out of the recession !thumbsup!

On the plus side, nobody is expecting us to match Beijing, whose breathtaking opening ceremony alone raised the bar too high, but we could still produce something memorable and well organised.

However, if that shameful, trite display at the handover is anything to go by (Jimmy Page, seemingly at death's door), we'd better get a move on.

I was thinking the same thing the other day while watching the news. They where telling more tales of woe regarding the financal crisis.
Suprised it hasnt been mentioned on the news yet.
Mind you those in power have probably thought the same but dare not say anything.

It'll end up like that. How the hell they're going to get the javelin event past the Health and safety gestapo i'll never know. ("You want to do WHAT? throw a spear? In a stadium full of people?)
We have need of you again, great king.
