Waste of public money putting it through the courts.

How many gurkhas does this affect?
Given the number of bogus asylum seekers who get here and stay here every year, surely the gurkhas' numbers pale into insignificance?

We have need of you again, great king.

Nail on the head... the word BOGUS being the operative word! I'm as receptive tot he genuine assylum seeker as any liberal - but when we get BOGUS economic migrants coming here to live off state handouts in relative luxury - no sir... But these Gurkhas are honourable men who, in many cases, travel HUNDREDS OF MILES ON FOOT just to get to the selection interview! Well, not sure they do that these days - but that was the case not much more than 15 years ago... They work hard, they have worked hard IN OUR NATIONS NAME and they we do them the indignity of denying them entry?! Why ever this was ever contested is beyond me.
As Ms Lumley has pointed out - JUSTICE has been done - but why did this require the justice fo the legal system! Could Parliament not have simply considered public opinion? I for one cannot imagine anybody in the UK denying them the right to reside here!

These men have been treated so shabbily it beggars belief. If they had been thieving pox ridden Romanians they would have full citizenship rights and a house by now.
The next move is to give these guys a full pension. My dad served with the Gurkhas and they are brave and loyal. We have a local copper who is ex Gurhka and by fuck has he cut the local yobbos down to size. Fearless, superfit and respected by the community.
