Murray Walker Vs James Allen

Post by stevieq »

Ive just been watching the Silverstone classic racing on TV.

Bringing back great memories of the former F1 GP cars of yester years.

But what really was great to see or in this case listen too, was Murray Walker commentating again, even now in his enthusiasm for the sport (even with his gaffs) is a joy to all.

Unlike James Allen who's voice is so monotoned, i just have to turn the sound down to watch.

Does anyone else have the same view as me?

Welcome back Murray, only if it was a brief appearance

For me F1 has never been as good as when Murray Walker used to commentate with James Hunt. They just complemented each other perfectly. Now, to be honest, I don't watch it, I find it rather dull.

Murray Walker: "There seems to be a fiery glow coming from the back of the Ferrari"

James Hunt: "No Murray, that's his rear safety light"

Sorry to all of you in the Murray Walker fan club but I couldn't stand the guy... from the tone of his voice, via his screeching and all the way through to the utter bollocks he used to come out with.

His removal from behind the microphone in 2001 was long overdue and I hope never to have to endure listening to him ruin a race again!

James Allen unemployed at the end of the season , which must be a very good thing. I can not stand the cunt.

Murray even if you don't like him, he does know his sport. He is getting on and should get a little respect .

James Allen won't be unemployed at the end of the season.

He is the F1 reporter for the Financial Times and has apparently been offered a job with ESPN, who he was worked for before. He's also the author of 3 books on F1, so I can't see him signing on as unemployed anytime soon.

I had heard that Murray still has the fire in his belly to do the F1 commentary, but it's only the amount of world traveling that is stopping him from doing so.

Not unless you watch ESPN anyway.

On the other hand.... maybe he'll apply for the BBC commentating job.
