We simply are just not good enough.

Post by Mike_CFC »

I've been listening to talksport today and cannot believe the arrogance of some of it's broadcasters regarding England's absence from Euro 2008.

Mike Parry:"It's just not the same without England"."Why are Austria there? when they are one of the WORST football nations in Europe"

He also suggested that because of the break up of Eastern Europe, they should have their own pre-qualifying group, that would allow England to have an 'easier' group !laugh!.

Adrian Durhum suggested that England as one of the supposed football elite should qualify for EVERY major tournament, regardless.

Fair enough,i'm gutted that England are'nt at Euro 2008,just as many of you bods are,and i'm sure that the Scottish,Welsh,Irish forumites feel the same about their Country not being represented at Euro 2008,but i don't see their broadcasters spitting the dummy out.

It's plain and simple. We just were'nt good enough!!!!,and it's got as much right to go ahead without England.

The sheer arrogance of some people embarrasses me.

Bet the organisers wish we were there as we spend a lot of money compared to other countries. Other Euro countries will bus in for the day, bring sandwiches and then go home - and the police won't get to test their water cannons :)

Austria are not there on merit, but because they are co-hosts. Anyone, no matter how blinkered to the England cause, who earns a living commenting on football should be aware of that simple fact.

One of the truisms of analysis is that tables don't lie, and that's the evidence that England and the other home nations weren't good enough.

Maybe they were pandering to the audience or trying to create a debate, but if they seemed sincere in what they were saying they're bad sports.

to be honest its not the same. but we didnt deserve to be there FULL STOP! we do not have a devine right to be at every tournament and to be honest its nice not to hear the papers hype us up like they do every other competition. the swiss and the austrians will probably miss england not being there. ENGLAND FOOTBALL FANS =?????????

Do-gooders? Seriously, are you mental? It's the do-gooders fault that the Premiership has so many foreign players? It's not the fans', that demand big signings, fault? it's not the boards of directors', or managers' faults for wanting to build the most talented teams?

The stupidity of some holds no bounds.

I was there the night England lost to Croatia. They were crap and good luck to the others. I think it's refreshing not to be stressed out watching the games. Jeez, we only had to draw that game...
