English Goalkeepers!

Post by big papi »

Having listened to jibes for years about Scottish keepers its justice that englands are amongst the worst in europe. A good keeper is trustworthy and consistent in a postive way lets look at some english keepers!

Seaman - ha clanger after clanger
James - Calimity by name!
Clemence - nutmeg
Robinson - flippers for hands
Carson - A legend!

maybe captian hook could glove up for en-ger-land

Would have been better with Willie Carson and he is 4 ft 8 inches in his stilts.
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

All goal keepers make clangers

If a goal keeper makes 5/6 brilliant saves in a match but lets in the winner through a schoolboy error then he's villified

Our Aussie GK Zjelko Kalac(reserve GK at A C Milan)let in a shocker against Croatia at the 2006 World Cup which almost cost us the game so it happens to the best...pressure plays funny tricks on the mind

Yes but I wouldn't point a finger at him as a potential Bruce Grobelaar

Why would you jeopardise your reputation after having a long successful & hihgly lucrative career.Just doesn't ad up.Much easier to say he had a brain snap...lack of concentration at the wrong moment

There were actually a lot of Australian born Croats on both sides
7 for Australia & 3 for Croatia

No idea how large but there must be a few as there were big football clubs
sydney croatia & melbourne croatia which rivalled their greek & italian counterparts

All came out in the 50s/60s henceforth our football/soccer being dominated along ethnic lines(to the detriment of the game)for decades

All the main football clubs were named were tainted with either an Italian,Greek or Croatian sense of Nationalism until just recently

!laugh! Think the great Pele would be in a little bit of disagreement.

Gordon Banks was the best keeper England ever hand.
