Adultwork Site Speed

I have 24Mb boradband and adultwork still loads slower than wading through treacle in an antique diving suit.

Using Firefox and adding the extension Customize Google and then blocking Google Analyitcs the speed is significantly increased. It's still not brilliant but it's a hell of a lot better.

If you use adultwork regularly install customize google.

Lol i know what you mean, i tend to find it loads fast at times and slow at others and always thought it was due to the volume of people on the site - is this not right then?

i remember around this time last year when the AW site was sooooo slow. Bookings used to time out while you were waiting for the page to load to accept them. Its like rocket speed now compared to how it was then ha ha. But yes it does seem to differ depending on times of day etc.

I use firefox and it is slow at times and I thought it was the amount of people logging on to the site as well. Its always slow at noon and between 5 & 7 pm and I thought that was due to people checking their mails and being perves was highest at those times

I, generally, haven't found this to be the case. I usually googled it via Windows IE7 and it loads up at about average speed. Firefox is always slow.

Firefox slow? Hmmm......compare and contrast if you will an AJAX or DHTML heavy site, Google Reader or Google Maps for instance. Firefox's JavaScript interepreter and the DOM manipulation are at least 6 times faster than IE?s. That is why MSN backed off with it's AJAX implementation on MSN Live.

With a static site you probably have a point, but we are at web 2.0 and who uses a static site these days?

I find that when i install firefox it buggers up my internet and stops me being able to view certain sites even if I go back to explorer.

Strange as I have a fairly new pc running xp.

It even stops me being able to view bbc.co.uk
