Time to legalise "drugs" and prostitution

Post by eroticartist »

It is time to legalise all psychotropic substances and prostitution:

If "drugs" were available on demand, such as alcohol, then we would not have financially compromised addicts craving for their next fix and doing anything to get it. The prisons would be almost empty and the police left to concentrate on real crime such as violence and theft.

Addicts should be able to obtain their heroin ifrom mobile dispensaries which would visit every town in England that has addicts. Dealers would be out of business and police corruption stopped in this area.

Prostitution should be legalised and girls allowed to work in a house together, advertise and provided with reguar medical check ups without having to pay protection.

Only then will prostitutes be safe. What they do for a living should not be of moral concern to as long as it is done discreetly and without nuisance to other citizens.

Total bollocks!

Post by Arnold Layne »

So us that choose not to live our lives off our faces on gear would have to suffer these fucking cunts off there heads looning around the streets? or do you propose building special centres for them as well? this has been covered before, the amount they get legally will never be enough, so there will ALWAYS be a black market, it's amazing how because of this killer on the loose people start flag waving about legalising drugs & prostitution, right on! the latter I'm more than in favour of, it would keep the women safe, that's for sure, and with the right checks could dramatically reduce STD's, and hey fucking is great fun! but fuck the junkies, let them do what they want, on a tiny little (previously) uninhabited island, drop a crate of gear on there once a month, and let them smoke/shoot up till they explode, they make me !sick!

A few points if I may?
I think what Mike meant regarding drugs was that if you have a drug problem and you want to confront it then you should be helped, one of the ways of soing so is to have access to a safe supply which criminals cannot make money out of.
Nope, I've discussed this with Mike before. He wants 'all' substances to be legalised.
In the case of heroin addicts you give them morphine not the contraindicated and even more addictive methadone. This means that they are not continually trying to score...
Nope, they take their prescribed medication and see it as a free 'top up', NOT a substitute. Ask anyone involved with drug addicts & bail hostels.
Poverty and deprivation in the 3rd world is a nice safe remote subject which has celebs and politicians falling over themselves to participate in benefit events like the preposterous and arrogant 'Live 8'. Deprivation isn't something you really hear much about in the UK and you'd certainly never get Sir Elton and Sir Paul fronting a benefit for heroin addicted prostitues in Glasgow because it is just a bit too close to home and not a nice feel-good subject really. It is also perfectly acceptable for our great and good leaders to piss away several million a day in pointless wars abroad rather than spend it on the deserving in the UK.
You have a point here Keith, although some people may think drug addicts aren't deserving of anything. I certainly wouldn't class a starving child, born in central africa, on the same level as a typical heroin addict. For one, the african child didn't have much choice about who his parents were, or the economic structure of the country he was born in, while the average UK heroin addict had the world as his/her oyster at some point. They took the wrong path on probably more than one occasion, and there's still plenty of help if they really really want it. The two circumstances differ. One is unfortunate while the other is selfish.
Saddam Hussein may have been a nasty dictator but our media have so far failed to mention that just for example Higher Education was free when he was in power, in the UK it is determined by how much funding you or your family can provide rather than by how talented you are.
Yep and I bet physics & chemistry were the subjects Saddam wanted his students to pursue. If you can't buy Nuclear technology then funding higher education is bound to produce a few nuclear scientists of their own someday, right? More like a 'nuclear youth academy' in his eyes?
Simple economics dictates that when you proscribe something you create an immediate black market. There isn't a black market for HP Sauce, but if it became illegal then there would be an expensive black market for it.
Obviously...........is that why there's a black market for nuclear technology? Better legalise that on a global scale then eh? Not the same thing you say? Neither is heroin to prostitution.

Your assumption on what creates a black market is correct, but each substance should be evaluated on it's own. Laws shouldn't be passed 'en mass'. Just because Alcohol is legal it doesn't mean that heroin should be classed the same. They are different substances, have different affects, have differing addictive effects, differing health risks and thus should have different laws. You can ride the pavement legally with a skateboard, but not a mountain bike, and you can drive on the M1 with a Ford Escort but not a 50cc moped. Why can't they all be lupmed together under 1 law eh? Stupidity I call it!

!clown!

..........but legalising prostitution isn't going to stop what happened in Ipswich is it.

Those girls are smackheads and the last time I checked they were the most unreliable people on the planet. They couldn't keep a regular job whether it be in Tesco's or a brothel. Therefore whether prostitution is legal or illegal those types of girls will always have to work the streets and will always be in danger.

Brothels would be the answer if health checks etc were up-to-date ala Amsterdam etc, but gals will still work the streets 'under-cutting' established whore houses, especially if they aren't as 'healthy' as the legit prostitutes.
