It's about time we had something to cheer us up:Im sick & tired of seeing people on TV looking like my next door neighbours. If I wanted that,I'd look over the fence.

Where is the glamour in our lives???

As for the story lines-how bl.........depressing.We can see that around us everyday, gloom & doom.(including the neighbours)

This is why Hollywood in the 30's depression years produced all singing, all dancing, entertainment for the masses.

We need badly a dose of that today.Where is "Entertainment"??

OT. But the new series of Green Wing makes me laugh, can't be like that in a hospital surely.....

It's what I said...let's have a laugh now & again!

Otherwise,we meet the other drab people in our local supermarket or coming out of the bookies.

Yo steve as you will no doubt know, Cracker aka Robbie Coltraine is coming back firstly with a one off episode to be screened later this year and shortly after a full series will be commisioned to be shown in 2007 ... have to say that is some of the best news I have heard tv wise for a while as Coltraine is absolutely spot on in that part (as opposed to all his other parts), coupled with it being some of the best stuff that Mcgovern has ever adapted to be put on our screens it has got to be good news.
Don't you just hate it when at their height of adulation, fame, riches etc, some people tend to walk out on their fans/contracts etc. saying that they want to move on (saying they don't want to be typecast) and make much bucks while the sun shines ... thank fuck Robbie is coming back to his best and (only) part.
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

Superb stuff once again from arguably this country's best TV dramatist.
Loved 'Cracker', 'The Lakes' and the feature film 'Priest' but never saw 'Hillsborough' having been there on that day - RIP [today] The 96 - and it would have been too much for me to watch.
'The Street' really showed Jane Horrocks as a fantastic actress while the other performances were top drawer too.
I've read Jimmy has penned part two but the rest of the series is by other writers - I just hope the standard is maintained.
But it's certainly great to have his work back on the TV - makes a pleasant change from reality/phone-for-your-favourite/Ant'n'Dec type programmes that I'm heartily sick of - and that's before 'Big Brother 7' kicks off next month ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or is there a distinct Northern bias on tv these days. What with The Street,Waterloo Road ,No Angels,Girl Cops,Life On Mars,Shameless,The Royal, and the ubiquitous Peter Kay,Paul O Grady, and Ant and Dec tv seems tohave it in its head that a northern accent is the only true stamp of authenticity.
