travelling from northampton to bristol, i stopped just outside swindon - shrivenham - at the mc donalds.
my excuse was i had left without breakfast and still had a hour still to travel.
so at 10.15 i arrived at the drive through and asked for a burger.
was told they were serving breakfast.
'i'll have a burger please'; but no, not available till 10.30.
so i told them i did not want one of their breafasts - 'but we're serving breakfast'.
so telling them to 'travel and fornicate' or words to that effect, i drove off
so much for customer service - so, no burgers at mc donalds
suppose i was lucky really
no burger at mc donalds
Re: no burger at mc donalds
some places can be very awkward they seem to like trouble dont they.
Re: no burger at mc donalds
Reminds me of the scene from the Michael Douglas Movie 'Falling Down' were he asks for a breakfast and he is told they stopped serving breakfast, but he insists he wants breakfast...they end up arguing...!!!
But you story is the other way round. McDonalds for me has had a crap customer service for a long time and I haven't eatin at their resturants for many years.

For the life of me I can't see why people flock to McD's. While the US of A 12 years ago on a Fly-Drive holiday I stopped at a McD, bought a burger in the drive-thru, took one bite of it, did not chew it or eat it, but put it on the passenger seat and as soon as I was out of town in the Arizona desert out of the window it went. That was the first and last time I went near a McD's.
Perhaps it was because I was in my 50's and my taste-buds were not used to such food!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't there a scene in a Jack Nicholson movie where he manages to get what he wants after a long complicated conversation with the waitress.

Yeah, I had the same treatment at McDonalds several years ago.
Still, it could be worse - I remember an old edition of Late Night with David Letterman where he spent a day serving at a Drive-Thru McDonald's and refused to serve a guy who had asked for a Happy Meal on the grounds that the customer wasn't happy enough!!
Re: no burger at mc donalds
I used to enjoy they Fillet O Fish, Garden Salad, & Chicken Sandwich at one time in the mid 90's....I went off all that and for many years have been a vegetarian and would never step foot in a McD's again even If they did serve any thing Veggie...The bad attitude towards customers was enough to put me off at the cash till, bunch of slackers!!
I Had 3 bad expriences all in the same year and at different branches of McD's, so it goes to show how slack they had become in that department.

You were very lucky...last time i was at a Mc Donalds the menu changed halfway through ordering....i was told i would have to make another choice on most things...I left
I've tried most fast food places and the worst by a mile is Mc Donalds
From the quality and taste of the food all the way through to the service
Why provide good service when you've got the next generation hooked purely through TV advertising...The Mc Donalds experience = having a great time...better than sex if you believe the adverts
Given the Child obesity rates in all First World countries fast food really needs to be looked at big time
The health costs to society are astronomical
cheers

Re: Jack Nicholson
That'll be the famous chicken salad sandwich/diner scene in the brilliant Five Easy Pieces.
