I have a similar set up and have had no problem. Rendering an hour's DVD does take three hours or so though and another hour to actually burn the disc. You will need at least 30gig of free disc space.

Have you clicked the settings tab and looked at the settings? Try rendering without burning and burn later.

Studio 8 is a seriously buggy programme for a lot of people who try using it. It?s especially buggy in the rendering and DVD authoring stages. If you check out DvdrHelp.. http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tools.php?tool=235#comments and Pinnacle forums, you?ll find peoples frustrations with the lack of solutions to the bugs. A lot of people give up on it. Make sure you?re using the latest update. If it?s just the burning you?re having problems with, try Nero I?m sure they offer a free downloadable demo. Failing that, try using Canopus Procoder Express for encoding combined with TMPGEnc DVD Author ?two rock solid programmes. Or start from scratch with Sony ScreenBlast MovieStudio (rock solid and altogether better all-in-one programme - free demo doesn't include DVD authoring, full version does) or wait ?till Studio 9 comes out, hopefully that will be more reliable.
