Thought this might help....
Theres a new virus doing the rounds (called jdbgmgr.exe) thats not detected by Norton or McAfree,it sits quietly for 14 days before it damages yr system.
Its automatically sent by messenger and yr address book whether u email or not.
Heres how to check for it and get rid of it....
1.Go to Start,Find or Search options
2.In the file folder option,type "jdbgmgr.exe"
3.Click " find now"
4.The virus has a teddybear icon with name "jdbgmgr.exe" DONT OPEN
5.Go to Edit (on the menu bar) and choose "select all"
6.Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select delete,it'll go to yr recycle bin
7.Empty yr bin
8.If u do have it u might want to let the others in yr address book know...
Hope that helps...

this is a hoax:
perhaps you could be a bit more thorough in your research, when considering any future "CARING AND SHARING....." type posts.

Microsft is the target and always will be as its operating systems underpin the vast majority of the PCs being used
I will never keep peoples addresses on my computer ever regardless of which product I use for emails

Re: Virus Warning
Sobig-f, is busy doing the rounds as an attatchment, really you only have to worry if your running outlook, outlook express, messenger, and only then if you open the attachment, which is in the form of a screen saver, although this may change, to a doc. with a different extention, best thing is to not open any attachments, unless you know who/where they are from.

Yes Liz, you're right - the safest thing to do is not to open anything you don't recognise.
I've had a bad week with computers - at least McAfee is spotting all the e-mails with Sobig in them.
A laptop and mainserver got infected with Spybot and although I could do restore on the laptop (which was running XP), the mainserver runs on Windows 2000 and there's no restore facility (thanks Billy Boy) - can't get internet access on it at all but all the other programs seem to be running ok - will probably mean a complete rebuild, unless some on the Forum has any ideas?
Plus the laptops keep crashing even though they've got all the microsoft updates on them( as this one did when I was typing this message)
