Seems like rather a silly thing to do....
But the way I look at it, this is exactly what,s happening with the increase of fan forums, model listing sites and the general "outing" of who did what and where.
I know its good to share, but sometimes its better not to:) There is an old saying "A gentleman should have his pleasure and never tell" I don,t think the author of that statement was thinking of wanking over internet images when he made it, but I don,t see why the principle should be any diffirent.
The problem was highlighted by the Rachelle Summers thread. Because it was assumed she may have been naughtier than usual, she got jumped on by various "photographers" and others claimed to have seen things they shouldn't...etc, etc
The young lady was genuinely upset. She is not a diva or a prude, she is a nice girl who happily models within her levels, and is or was happy to appear on paysites, was quite open about it, and didn,t try to hide anything. Now, I doubt if she will do any published work again...and I don,t blame her.
You guys as fans want to see new girls, and maybe you want to see them go further than usual, thats fair enough and quite understandable. In the old days...and when I say old days..I only mean a few years ago, I shot literally dozens, maybe hundreds of new girls for sites like Karups and various magazines. Quite a few did adult maybe as a one off...or maybe did the odd adult job now and again. People seemed to be happy and just looked at the images, there was none of this shouting about it and spreading it all over the Peachy forums and linking to their model profiles, real names etc etc.
It worked well as far as I could see. You guys got what you want, the models got a certain amount of anonimity and the money, obviously...you both won.
Now, I,m very reluctant to shoot new models at all and would actively discourage any new girl who asked me about nude or adult, simply because the consequences for them definitely outway any benefits. I probably get approached by on average maybe 6-10 unseen girls every month..often girls you guys know and would love to see, but with very few exceptions (those being girls who are going to do it anyway, whatever I say) I talk them out of upping their levels.
Whether I shoot new girls or not is not going to effect me one way or the other, I can get by quite easily shooting established models, but as far as I see you guys are losing out on seeing girls you would like to see and the girls are losing out on the income...
I honestly cannot see the sense in all this cyberstalking , cyberlinking and trying to outdo each other by who sees and who links any particular girl first. Is it some kind of league table for it ?...is there a prize for who "outs" a girl first?
Honestly, it makes no sense...talk about shooting yourself in the Dick.....
*You, *You guys etc, is a collective term and does not refer to any particular person.
Shooting Yourself In The Dick.......
Re: Shooting Yourself In The Dick.......
Iain, the internet, or rather social networking has changed the whole landscape. Things will not go back to the way they were in days gone past. Private collectors, fans ... call them what you will, have always existed. But, it is now much easier for them to chase down "rare" images and communicate with others who share similar interests in this digital age.
Are they wrong to act in this way ? Personally, I don't think so. It's human nature. But it means models now have to seriously think about the consequences of what they are doing. Back in the 70's - 90's page3 models were doing explicit material "on the side" in foreign countries, believing no-one would ever find out. The internet changed things ... to their horror.
The bottom line is this: if a model is even slightly concerned that images may cause embarrassment if seen by friends/family/work colleagues then she should NOT shoot nude/adult levels. Period.
This could have a major knock on effect on the glamour/soft adult industry. Many models who would otherwise have entertained some occassional work in this genre might now shy away from it entirely leaving a rather anaemic selection of models for producers to work with. I have long felt that this would happen and I suspect it will limit the work opportunities for photographers like your good self.

Re: Shooting Yourself In The Dick.......
Maybe the point is being missed.
I don,t need new UK models. I prefer shooting UK models but as was correctly pointed out producers like me will keep on going, there are established UK models, there are east european countries only now coming in to play which are untapped sources for new models.
You guys, the UK fans are the people who like to see new UK models, the rest of the world doesn,t really care where the models come from, I was making the point that the more public things become, the less you will get your wish.
Maybe, as xalscan said, its unavoidably the way things are now. Ok, that,s cool, things change, we all have to move on.

Iain
I understand much of what you say. However I think for many people though the "outing", as you call it, is driven by a desire to encourage others to "out" so that people have pointed out to them where they can see a girl they like raising her levels and which they might otherwise not find for themselves. That's all, just saving the hours on Google!
Thank you

Taking the moral high ground in an Adult arena , and still earning a living from producing a product . Seems too good to be true. Almost having the cake and eating it at the same time.[/quote]
Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed. Riding in on that noble steed at every single opportunity must make the fella quite tired.

Re: Shooting Yourself In The Dick.......
Honestly, in my opinion, it seems the other way around. The Eastern Euro models seem to have higher rates. The more visible ones at least, while you have some UK models posting on places like purestorm offering ?25 per hour to shoot toys.
Re: Shooting Yourself In The Dick.......
The photos and video you shoot of models end up on what most would argue are prominent sites. Even if you have decided only to shoot models with prior adult style experience, those models you shoot will get a lot more exposure after you've sold the photos and videos to, for example, Twistys than when they did roughly the same kind of content for some unknown UK sites.
Ever considered changing the path in your life? I doubt it's too late for that. Now, I guess you wouldn't make as much money, but money isn't everything, is it?

Re: Shooting Yourself In The Dick.......
Again, you are missing the point. You (collectivelly) are the guys who want to see the girls...and I do not mean the "you" in a disrespectful or condescending manner.
I was pointing out the major reason why you wont see as many new UK girls as in the past, not just shot by me, but in general and how the people who want to see the girls are contributing significantly to this.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong and I'm not criticising anyone, maybe the irony of it is getting to me..
Why do I stay in the Industry? The simplest explanation is that I don't fancy the alternatives.
