The pics contain a very potent virus which resulted in me having to pay an i.t. bloke 30 pounds to clear my comp, plus losing a whole weeks work!

Great! Read your post too late, firefox did pick up on something and crashed, scanned my pc with antivirus, and no results, so hopefully no lasting damage.

FAO THE MODERATORS
Hi Guys,
if this is a fact - and A) I have no reason to doubt it and B) I'm certainly not going to open the thread .....
Might be an idea to remove the thread from the forum.....................before anybody else has problems.

Re: FAO THE MODERATORS
Its a valid link to imageshack, a reputable image hosting company. There is no evidence to support that any of the links contain a virus and after checking them myself i can't find any evidence either.
As you maybe aware a user can only upload images/videos to imageshack and so its impossible for a user to upload a virus. It is possible that imageshack got hacked, but its very doubtfull and there has been no information on the net to suggest they have and the fact the page is still there seems to point that it isnt.
Using several online virus scanners to check the page, all report no virus, using googles malware check reports the same. Its the moderator's call but simply removing links without even checking to see if there harmful doesnt seem in the best interest of the forum and opens it up to abuse in future.

Re: FAO THE MODERATORS
ok i concede that its possible that "isthisfake" didnt mean to do it but i had a very stressful day off having to get a i.t. bod to sort it out,at a cost of 30 quid to me and losing ALL of my data.I was angry at the time but i felt it was right to warn people not to open it.

Did 'the bod' say specifically that it was that link that contained the virus?
