Sarah Daykin interview on TV last night...

Post by max_tranmere »

On the Playboy Channel last night (Tuesday) there was a 30 minute interview with Sarah Daykin. She was saying she has quit hardcore, that what she did was a 'job' and how she has never orgasmed on camera. She also said that as it is all staged (real sex obviously, but a false-setting not like in your private life) that she seldom got turned on. She also said she is not remotely bi-sexual, but obviously did girls on camera.

We then had the inevitable reference to what her family thought. I always find porn stars and porn film makers' words when this question arises rather inconsistent with other things they generally say and do. This doesn't apply to Sarah specifically but in general. Sarah said she couldn't go back to hardcore because of the effect it would have on her family. This impiles that they not only knew but knew and were horrified by it.

I've never heard Sarah say anything else about the view of her family with regard to her being a pornstar, but when people say things like 'its just a job' and 'its how I earn my living', what one does 'at work' - and the fact the protagonists are 'actresses' etc, it all sounds very clean, ordinary, and sanitised. If thats the case - its all very 'normal' - why would their nearest and dearest be bothered?

Before people say 'its obvious why' - it is to me too - but they imply it is not something odd, 'just my job'. I saw pornfilm maker Omar Williams asking someone once about it in an interview (the parents view). The person said 'they don't like boy-girl'. 'Why', he asked? genuinely puzzled. 'Are they squares or what?' was his next question. So many porn people see it as so normal. If this was genuinely just a normal job for Sarah (like nurse, chef, maid, pilot), why would the parents be bothered?

Her saying that her parents freaked, and her NOT saying it was weird for them to do so, sounds like a subtle admission by her that maybe her 'career' WAS something bad to do. Anyway, back to what I was originally talking about: did other people see the interview, and what did you think about it. And does anyone know what she is doing now?

I didnt see it although sounds interesting.

As I am considering this career path myself I was completely up front with my mother and asked her what she thought her answer was one I expected from her "Its just another acting job hun". I am in the entertainments business but not in an adult way (yet!!) My mother is an actress but again not in the adult sector. She said its people being someone else in front of the camera just like playing a role, granted those that don't enjoy what they do will possibly not deliver as good a performance as those that thoroughly enjoy what they do (I know im the latter hee hee). But I guess for some its just another acting job.

So know with the important people in my life knowing what im considering im much more comfortable with the concept and frankly don't give a monkeys what anyone else thinks. Of course I have friends who I haven't told but I guess in time they will find out and I will in turn find out if they are in fact my true friends.

I think you may find your opinion is just slightly in error.

I remember a while ago reading about the American pornstar Ginger Lynn criticising the US porn industry when she left. Then low and behold, a couple of years later, and she's back performing in front of the camera again!

Its like I lawys say: Porn highlights the worlds hypocrisies...In this case it mirrors its own.

People who damn the industry when they lave are doing it wth the motiv thy are pissed off with it.

To put it another way, if porn was really that bad to begin with then why do it in the first place?

Money? Well if thats the case it says more about the person than the industry itself. Still after two dozen movies, at what point did she suddenly realise...Oh my god. What have I done??? After several hundred pole have watched it later, knocking it doesnt really mean anything and I can see why it breeds confusion in the fans.

Its lie having a girlfriend and mad sex then months later she leavs you and says she faked it to get it over with.

Yeah whatever darling. I had a great time anyway. See you around.

I completely agree with that comment which is why I was completley up front to my mother and said "im considering doing porn" that way some malicious ex or spiteful old friend can't go to my mother and say "by the way do you know your daughter is shaggin on film" she can then say "well actually yes I do" ha one in the face for that nasty person.

It's nice your mum is so supportive, Melody. Good luck to you.

Sarah Daykin quit at least three years ago now - word here was she was pregnant. Was the footage on Playboy TV recent (as far as can be told)?
